I bought this Mag Safe mount from Bulletpoint last October after buying my Gladiator:
Jeep Gladiator Bulletpoint Mag Safe Charger Failure Mag mount

https://www.bulletpointmountingsolu...hone-charger-with-cooling-fan-20mm-ball-mount

I'd like to know:
Has anyone else here used this mount?
How long has it lasted for you?

The cooling fan was the main selling point since I live in a hot climate. It never once fell off the magnet, even with some high spirited rides on some decently rough roads. I even had to check manually to confirm the fan was spinning, since it was completely silent. It worked flawlessly.
Right up to the point that it didn't.
I noticed today that my phone wasn't charging. Troubleshooting showed that the cable was good, it was the charger itself that had stopped operating.
Unfortunately I am about 2 weeks outside of the 90 day electronics warranty.
I prefer the 20mm ball and have other mounts and accessories from the Bulletpoint family, and don't intend to look anywhere else. I am okay eating the cost to replace it if I can be reasonably sure the next one will last longer than this one.
Chime in - Did yours die early too? Has it lasted longer than mine?

Did you contact them anyway? A lot of niche businesses like this will do the warranty anyway. May just have to cover shipping. Doesn’t cost anything to make a call or send an email anymore.

Yeah, I do plan to reach out anyway, if nothing else than to see if they know of any short life issues.

Can’t hurt.

Side note: I totally missed the first “r” in your forum handle and it had me rolling for a second there.

Funny you should mention that. One of my company's previous clients made us use first initial-last name for our email addresses in their system. Yup. I was "sharter".

Mine started rattling at some point. I reached out to them and they replaced it without a problem. I am not sure where I was in the warranty period. My replacement is probably 5 or 6 months old at this point. Still working.

I don't have their charging holder but use the one that clamps on to your phone. After several months my first one started rattling also and they sent a replacement out the same day I contacted them. I was very impressed with their customer service. Their email address is [email protected]

I don’t trust any wireless chargers other than Apple’s MagSafe (and a select few others that are certified by Apple, like Belkin). They all overheat.

Additionally, I don’t like my lithium batteries sitting at 100% for hours at a time, like on a long roadtrip. I want to be able to control when I charge.

Due to these concerns, I got the non-charging MagSafe mount from Bulletpoint and just plug-in a cable when I need to charge my phone.

There’s a setting for that in the phone. I have mine set to 90% to preserve/conserve the battery life.

I know and I use it, but I don’t even want it sitting at 90% for hours. Especially overheating due to wireless charging and potentially sitting in the sun.

Can I ask a question? Does the face of the unit actually get COLD? or is it simply an internal fan.

Reason I ask.. What's considered cooling is not only a fan. Cooling units have what's called a peltier plate. Which is an actual cooling module, the face unit will get cold to the touch and it seperates the heat which the fan blows out the back.

Fan only chargers are a bit older technology that's simply designed to pull heat away from the PCB to maintain 10-15 W Charging.

We've been meaning to get a unit to test. I'm not sure if it's an actual cooling unit or just crafty marketing.

It looks as though they have a 3 month warranty on electronics so if they can't offer you a replacement, I'd love to send a free demo. I'd be eager to get a genuine honest comparison. Good, Bad or Ugly.

The only caveat is our unit requres 45W to charge so you have to use our plug and cable. It has the same 20mm interface.

No pressure, just lobbing this out there.

That being said wireless technology is far from perfect so failure on these parts is more common relative to typical arms and spring cradles.

It uses the fan to pull the heat out of the back of the charger, since it does use higher wattage. The fan only works while the phone is charging, and turns off when not charging. I assume the face of the charger does conduct some of the inherent heat in the back of the phone away as well.

I had that one but my phone kept falling off when I was rock crawling so I switched it out for this one and haven't had any issues with it in over a year. You can also stay with the 20mm ball and just get adapter balls. That's what I did with my other vehicles.

Bulletpoint Wireless Phone Charger with Motorized Cradle

Connectors for Carbon Fiber/Kevlar Arms and Third Party Devices - Although Bulletpoints adapters are pretty expensive. I bought them off Amazon for a fraction of the price.
I use an Otterbox case with an internal steel ring to make up for the distance from the magnet it holds the phone. I also added the additional steel ring that came with the charger for cases without their own steel rings. With both rings, my phone stuck quite well, never once fell off during some high energy testing. Like I said, the fan was a big selling point, and I'm happy to manage any inconveniences.

I’ve had one since June 2025 that is used daily. So far so good.
