I am toying with the idea of getting a new bumper a d winch for my Gladiator. Any tips or suggestions on modifications that you have made?

If you have a steel bumper I would suggest a Warn winch mount and Badland Apex 12k winch. This setup has worked very well for me.

in addition to normal things to consider with a bumper, there are three subtle gladiator things youā€™ll want to figure out when choosing the bumper
1. Do you want the winch inside the bumper or do you want it to sit on top
2. Do you want to use factory fog lights
3. Skid plate options

I went with a motobilt bumper. Winch is in the bumper, I didnā€™t us factory fog lights and the skid plate is built in.

Iā€™m assuming a 10k pound winch isnā€™t enough?

Iā€™ve got the Warn Winch mount already but obviously not going to use the 8k pound winch I had on my 2 door JL Rubicon.

I really like the clean look of the factory steel bumper and Warn Evo12 winch. The warn mounting plate was on backorder forever so I opted for the Mopar winch plate. It cost more then the winch šŸ˜«.
I cheaped out and got the wire rope version and old school looking roller fairlead, but itā€™s what Iā€™m familiar with.

I too like this look.... I just can't find any factory steel bumper takeoffs.... It looks really nice BTW!

Which Warn winch mount did you use - or is there only one for Jeep JT?

Rubicon steel bumper look-alike bought on eBay for under $500.

Bumper is widely personal preference, but Mike and I agree on Warn. We both have the same winch, and both have seen action.

My suggestion is to make sure your chosen bumper is guaranteed to handle the force your winch can handle. I chose a 12,000 knowing I was needed to be able to recover the gladiator and our small trailer as a rig. The Warn bumper I chose is guaranteed to handle 12,000lbs of force without damage or distortion. Not all ā€œwinch bumpersā€ are created equalā€. And choose a winch with more power than the weight of what you intend to winch. Weights increase with inclines, resistance from being stuck, etc.

Have fun deciding. I was worried mine would be an insurance policy that never got used. Not so much. Very useful. I also have a Factor55 flat link works great with some soft shackles

The bumper doesn't handle the force though - the winch plate does and if you use a snatch block and double-back, whatever you hook back to handles half the load.
Unless you mean the fairlead part.........??

Here is also a picture of my Warn Interrupt solenoid wiring. Warn sells the kit including all wiring. It allows you to disconnect power from the winch at the bumper with a switch. Good safety feature to prevent fire with front end damage where the winch is. I didnā€™t use the Warn switch, but used Aux3 and set Aux3 to only work with ignition. Winch uses a lot of power.
