Step 1) shop for some better insurance
Step 2) go use your Glad for what it does best, off-roading, top & doors off, etc.
Step 3) if you’re still feeling this way a month from now and you’ve completed steps 1 & 2, then get rid of it.

Thank you for all the replies. The insurance thing really ticks me off. I called them BEFORE I bought the rig. While an extra $40 per month may seem like chump change, over the course of a year that is an extra car payment. I consider that big. And they have been helping themselves to my money like this for 3 years straight. I think they will do it again next year. At this rate, it makes no sense to have anything nice anymore.
Just get hit by someone to get some use out of it. lol

That's what happened to me. Somone hit me and my insurance had to cover most of the cost of $20,000+ in repairs because their broke-ass insurance coverage barely covered the cost of towing. And it all went fairly smooth and no price increase. Got my money's worth of insurance coverage. Ha!

I went from a '19 Civic Type-R to my '23 Gladiator, insurance actually dropped quite a bit. Find a good agent and they should be able to shop for you and find the best deal. In my case when it comes up every year if there's any increase whatsoever I make a phone call, either they find a way to get it back in line or find me a better deal. Enjoy the truck!

Bought mine used as a toy in July 22 and paid a little more than I would have liked but I try to avoid car shopping so maybe I was wrong?

My regret or mistake was to recently look at prices for new Gladiators. I could have gotten myself into a brand new Rubicon or Mojave for what seems like only a little more than I paid for my current ride.

Reaction was to feel upset for about 10 min. Tell my wife about it and then not think about it again until this post. In 5 minutes I won't even remember this post. Try it, it helps!

Anybody been through it? I'm feeling it the last couple of days. While I think I got a good price, it's a lot of money. I felt this once before after buying a brand new 2012 Ram Laramie 3500. I ended up selling it off after two years and 45,000 miles, losing $5k + tt&l, which wasn't too bad for the miles driven.

It's been made worse by the fact that Geico jacked my insurance on the Gladiator up $40 per month only 6 weeks into ownership. Sure, $40 might seem like pocket change, but that's after large increases the past two years, too. I just can't justify spending $160 per month for car insurance on this thing at my age. I have no tickets, no claims, etc.

I'm so unsure about things now that I actually checked blue book to see what the private party value is. It may seem insane, but with only a bit over 1,000 miles I have seriously cold feet. Not sure why I am out on the ledge right now.
I've only ever purchased ONE new car, and that was a 1983 Toyota Tercel. I also purchased ONE new motorcycle (years before), a 1975 Yamaha 500. Ever since then, I've purchased USED vehicles. Usually 2-yr old vehicles. Otherwise, you're losing thousands (depreciation) on a new one before you even get out of the dealer parking lot. I bought this '21 JT Mojave in October of '23, with about 33K miles, just off lease, loaded, & in good shape. Priced at $61.5K+ (sticker when new), but I only paid about $43K (gently used). No regrets. Love my JT. Saved a bundle, & it was still under warranty. Please forgive my pride - I'm a conservative.

I got my Gladiator two-and-a-half months ago. I got a sweet deal (26% OFF MSRP) but still felt it was a LOT of money. As it turns out, the more I drive this truck the more I like it, which makes it easier to deal with the sticker shock.

Per insurance premiums, they are going up across the board, no matter what vehicle you get. In fact, Jeeps usually have lower insurance premiums than similar vehicles.

To make matters worse, automakers have lost their mind making vehicles that are so incredibly expensive to repair. For instance, to replace the windshield on a 2023 Gladiator costs under $300; to do the same on a 2024 Gladiator with the integrated radio antenna now costs a whopping $2,000.

We all end up having to pay higher premiums for today's stupidly expensive repairs. All we can do is shop around for the best rate.

Good luck.

They do????
My Chevy Silverado was a heck of a lot cheaper to insure. Our Grand Cherokees were cheaper to insure than my JT.
I've seen the opposite over the years.
Insuring a 2024 compared to a 2022 scares the heck out of me - I asked our agent a "what if" question and was shocked by the answer- 2024 vs. 2022 - about 250 more a year - even with better safety equipment.

My 2023 JT costs the same to insure as my 2018 JL; cheaper than my 2020 Mini Clubman, 2019 Tacoma, or any HEMI Mopar I owned in the past.

My 2020 F150 is cheaper to insure than my 2021 Gladiator. I just switched insurance and still true.

Yeah, the 2024s have the fancy windshield and those side air curtains, which would need to be replaced at great expense in case of an accident.

Part of my decision for getting a 2023 instead of a 2024, in addition to the sweet deals, was getting a comparatively simpler vehicle.

I used to own a car dealership, what your going thru is buyers remorse. everybody gets it in one form or another. Im assuming its a new jeep.

Just shop your ass off for better insurance rate, its out there. Your already committed to your new vehicle. Which means whatever you do your going to loose if you sell it, you cannot return a new vehicle after 1,000 miles.

Then maybe the prices on your other vehicles are too high?

Nope, compared with what my brothers and friends pay in insurance.
