Many of Us have purchased the same model jeep back to back. I would love to hear the stories why..

I had a 2020 JT sport. Loved it. But realized I got the wrong trim and should have got at least 1 locker.
My original plan was to build up the '20. Put together the plan. Wife laughed at the spend on a "used" truck as it was almost.5 years old and nearly 80k miles.
List included regear, lockers, lift kit with shocks new rims and tires. A 5 figure spend but a lot cheaper than new.
She talked me into buying new and spending a lot less on upgrades.
I got the JTM '24. Great truck.
First time buying the same model twice.

If Jeep offers a hemi and 4.56 gears in the future they will get a 3 peat

Tell your rebuy Jeep stories. What made you buy the same Jeep twice?

I have a sport s and would do it again. I don't need lockers, and if I did, adding them later is cheaper than factory installed lockers. I would like to upgrade the radio to the larger one, I saw a new model and the info center is a lot better.

On the new radio. Not sure how it will hold up. The beefy frame in the prior years seems stronger. But time will tell. Also the relocated vent isn't ideal. Doors off roof off. I could get the old vent to run just under my arm and cool my back as I drove. The new vent is lower. Not exactly perfect air flow.

We bought our 2019 JLUR in the fall of 2019. Loaded with leather, adaptive cruise, seat heaters, etc. Built and wheeled the thing for nearly 3 years. Ended up on 3" ICON springs and 38s. 26 BOH trails from here in CA all the way to Alabama. 63k miles when stolen. Replaced with a 2022 JLUR with the xr package. 39s on it now, still wheeling all over. 37k trouble free miles so far. Bought my 2023 a JTM in October of '23. 25k miles already. 37s, 3.5" metalcloak springs, and is buy another if something happened to this one.

2024 Anvil Jeep Beach JT, 2025 Joose Willys JL, 2020 Gator Sport S (previous JT)
1st: 2020 Sport S in Gator
2nd: 2024 Jeep Beach Edition in Anvil

My 2020 was a lease as I had never had a Jeep nor a truck before. When the lease was up, it was a $35K payout for a truck with 36K miles and not many options. Interest rates were 9%. I turned it back in.

Meanwhile, my friends, family, and neighbors all hated that I got rid of my Gladiator. I'm a well-known volunteer coach in my community and everyone knew my Gladiator. I started to really miss it as well. But no way was I going to drop $71K on a Mojave X (what I originally wanted).

Then the 2024 discounts came out. I wanted leather interior and some niceties that my Sport S didn't have. The new '24 screen is impressive. So the Jeep Beach model fit the bill as it has leather, LED lighting, Willys suspension, lockers, and still my favorite addition of a Sunrider soft-top. Other than a need to upgrade the sound system, I couldn't be happier.................and my friends, family, and neighbors are too

2020 Max Tow Sport,, Sold at 60K after 1 major electrical episode at the same time, the 23 had a 15% discount. Custom factory order for another 23 Sport Max Tow, 15% off, Eden, NC pick up. Darn near identical truck, except color. Bottom line, both affordable great jeep. Read twice, affordable.

If you look at my sig below, I've had quite a few Grand Cherokees.

My '93 Laredo I stoopidly sold with only 110K on her and bought a '96 RAM 1500 4x4 extra cab with the 5.2L V-8...what a piece of junk. Couldn't handle the boat I had at the time which I was towing with my '93 I-6, the RAM's tranny blew towing my boat from S.E. MA to Lake Winnepesaukee, NH and back. That AW-4 trans they had in the GC that year was a really tough transmission.

My '96 I-6 Laredo, I ran her to over 240K miles and ended up donating to charity for a $1,700 tax write off. She had electrical issues which is why she went buh-byes. I had also beefed up the engine with FMS 22#/hr fuel injectors. She ran like a scalded cat and my fuel economy actually improved vs. stock (19 MPGs bopping around and 21 Highway) because the stock injectors were 19#/hr single point and the FMS were multi point injectors so, probably better fuel atomization. With mods, 22 MPGs bopping around and the best ever seen on the highway was around 26 MPGs, and that was on a trip from MA to FL with around 180K on her. Miss that one 😔😔😔

My '03 I-6 Laredo, loved that one but totaled it..died too young 😔

My '02 4.7L V-8 GCSE...ran great but I ran into issues with it running too warm when sitting. It had the trailer package which meant the cooling fan ran off the power steering pump and the fan itself was going bad and new or replacements were not available any more. Traded it in for...

'08 GC Overland with the Hemi. Great vehicle. Put a 2" budget boost in and larger tires and that thing was a beast in the snow. Actually got decent fuel economy (cylinder deactivation until needed). I was getting around 18 MPGs back and forth to work and got 21 MPGs on straight highway. Sold her when I moved to Kyiv, Ukraine to teach English and be with my girl (now my wife). Loved that one.

'11 GC Overland, also Hemi. Not as nice as my '08 was and really sucked for fuel economy. Got around 12 MPGs bopping around and the best I ever saw on the highway was 16 MPGs. Traded in for...

'19 GC Ltd. with the V-6. Nice vehicle (the Bride's car). Gets about 1 MPG more than my Gladiator both bopping around and on the highway, probably aerodynamics 🤔🤔🤔

Bought a sport s. Diesel came out and ordered a rubicon to my spec. Same color. Sold the sport.

I‘ve noticed now that I am older that I do the same for other things. I’m on my 3rd pair of the same boots. I no longer have to look for jeans, I just buy the same pair. etc. I guess when you figure out what you like…

I leased a 2022 Gladiator Willys because my Ford dealer put together a sweetheart deal for Bronco reservationists who needed a vehicle while they waited for their reservations to get built. The deal was a cheap price and a guaranteed no money owed buyout when the reservation arrived. Didn't have a choice on the trim or transmission. Ordered in October 2021.

By the time my Willys showed up (Dec 21), Ford had done fucked around with the allocation formula, penalizing customers who ordered from dealers doing actual deals (my bronco was reserved at 4% below invoice). So based on the allocation formula Ford gave my dealer, it looked like my Bronco wouldn't be built until 2026.

At this point, i'm in a gladiator already, and really enjoying it. Only thing missing from a vehicle I'd actually want to buy instead of lease is a proper transmission. I was kind of on the fence as to whether or not to give up on the Bronco... but then they announced Gobi ordering had started (March 2022). That little extra bit was enough to push me over the edge.

I ordered a manual Mojave in Gobi, told my dealer to keep my Bronco reservation for themselves as a thank you, and by May 2022 had my current truck in my possession.

A Bronco attached to my reservation showed up in June 2024. But, the dealer had changed it from a 2dr hardtop to a 4dr softtop when i told them to keep it, so no idea when my Bronco as-ordered might have shown up.

After having several jeeps in the past, some with 200k+ miles, we were living in Denver driving a Durango, and wanted to get into the mountains. I traded the Durango for a 2021 Gladiator Mojave. Wheeled it across Colorado and Utah numerous times, and it never let me down. After the new Florida dealer said I was going to end up needing a new motor, I started looking.
Recent rebates and incentives have created a great opportunity for anyone wanting a Rubi or Mojave. I jumped into a 2024 Mojave with everything I was looking for, and not a lot of BS I don’t want.
Starting from scratch with the updates. I’m not going to be in the Colorado mountains for a long time, but, we try to spend as much time as possible at our local causeway doing Florida things like paddle boarding, fishing, kayaking and just chilling by the sea. Different needs now, so I’m doing different updates.
same softopper, same Datin Fab rack, but I am really happy with the the Bedrug and how it keeps shit out of the gap between the tailgate and the bed.
New truck came with the steel bump group, so, when I get another winch, it’ll be more discreet behind the bumper. Fog lights can bolt directly to the bumper, so that’ll be coming soon.

I bought a 2021 Gladiator in Snazzberry in April 2021. Later that year I saw the Wranglers in Tuscadero. I loved the color, but I didn't want to trade in a brand new vehicle so quickly and was loving having a Gladiator. In the spring of 2024 when they brought back Tuscadero and were offering it on both Gladiators and Wranglers, I went to my dealer in May and special ordered a Gladiator in Tuscadero. It arrived in July 2024 and I have been very happy with the new color. The new screen is a bonus too, but like some other people I do miss the old vents.

Only thing I've bought a repeat of is a motor. Loved the 4.0. Had a XJ with the 4.0, loved it, had some vehicles in between, eventually got a WJ with the 4.0, loved it. Now in a JT. Eventually would like to pick up a TJ with the 4.0 as a project.

JT is too expensive to consider a repeat, unless something catastrophic happened to this one I plan to drive it until I can no longer keep it on the road 😂

Went from a well optioned 2023 JTR to a 2024 JTR -X package. The reasons I did so were 0% financing from Stellantis, side curtain air bags, full time 4WD selection, numerous safety features I did not have on the 2023, and some other goodies included in the X package. The 2023 was nice, but the reasons listed pushed me into the 2024.. This is my 4th Jeep Vehicle, my first was a factory ordered 1979 CJ-7 Hardtop. What a fun vehicle that was.
