I've been looking at the smittybilt trailer, how is it holding up? Any concerns or anything notable?

Its got good bones. Due to its price point, it also has some cheap components. The locks sucks. Some doesn't really lock. The rear hinge sags a little but other than that, I haven't had any issues. Customer service is decent. I contacted them about the locks and they sent me a new set. Haven't had a chance to install them yet. Tows really nice behind the Gladiator. I did have some issue going up big bear. So I have an appointment for regearing next week. Overall, it's a really nice platform to build on and about the perfect size and weight for the Gladiator if you want something to tow on the trails. There's a huge thread on expeditionportal.com on build outs.

What brand of awning is on your JTM? I have a 1/2 rack that I am going to fabricate a couple extensions so it is high.

And which model with descriptions of how it worked or did not work for you. Thank you for posting so we can all learn from each other in this community.

It's a diesel heater. Everything fits inside the case making it compact and convenient. Works really well. Kept our 3 month old baby cozy on that trip with night temp in the low 30s. I have the non bluetooth version. I think the bluetooth version would be better. It would be nice to have a display with the remote. And I think the bluetooth version would solve that problem.

Upgraded my just-in-case, sleep-in-the-cab setup from a rope hammock to a polycanvas hammock. Ended up cutting off the tassels, though it did add a certain hominess to the setup.

Second annual overlanding trip from Northern Indiana to the Outer Banks! Stopped over in the Wayne (night 1 pic 1) and George Washington & Jefferson national forests (nights/pics 2 and 3). Night 3 was supposed to be at First Landing State Park, but Ophelia shut the park down.

This year's highlights/learnings included:
-Pushing my Jeep further into more challenging situations, like climbing 20° up and down a hilltop campsite.
- I really need a camp shower. Anyone use the Coleman hot water on demand system?
- Not all rooftop tents are waterproof. Anything inside that touches the polycanvas walls will soak up the water beading down the outside panels. I'm gonna spray the whole thing with Kiwi.
- Nature and Forest Rangers closed some of my favorite campsites from last year. So I'm going to just start choosing a forest and ranger district, knowing that finding camp will take an open mind, extra time, and some problem solving.
- The National Forests' online interactive map isn't always accurate. Trails that look open can be closed, trails that look closed can be open, and there are many rugged offshoots that don't show up online at all.
- The Gladiator's narrow body is a HUGE benefit! We were able to (unknowingly) navigate some ATV trails to reach better campsites.
- My kid still loves pooping in the woods ?
