OP, with your ambient temps, I would opt for a heat extraction hood and open side vents behind the front fenders even without adding the other items. You can always block the radiator intake with one of those big rig style blankets for the chilly times.

So which bumper does everyone suggest for the Ecodiesel in hot temps? I currently just have the plastic one.

one that doesn't have to much crap in front of the grill. Lights, winch ect. A nice pipe bull bar not some of those chunk square stuff.

If you are worried find a bumper that has a nested recess mounted winch.

I was think about going with the ARB Deluxe Classic.

I know that Jeep used a different grill on the EcoDiesel Jeeps to help cooling. I live in Tempe, AZ where average summer temps are probably 110-115 every single day of the summer and regularly tow my boat to the lake up some pretty steep hills. I have been thinking about getting an AEV EX front bumper but am worried about it overheating. Does anyone have any real world experience with aftermarket bumpers? Do they impact cooling? I don't want to spend $2,000 plus on a bumper and then have to swap it out because I am overheating.

Thanks!

With the heavy front-end of the diesel, I would also be concerned about weight. Believe there is a thread on this website entitled the Definitive Front Bumper...would check it out. Know of at least two firms that offer aluminum bumpers Heftyfabworks, MPConcepts. But, I gotta tell you; I love the looks of the ARB and AEV bumpers.

AEV has surely built hundreds of diesels by now. Have you called them?

I donā€™t experience any of the heat complaints that exist on here and Iā€™m in Arizona a lot.

I have a 2021 diesel gladiator and want to change the grill and some say for 2020 and 2021 but I found on a site said wouldn't fit the diesel one. Is there a difference between gas and diesel grille. I found on a site that has diesel ones and there open more ill try and post pic this one says for diesel and its got wide slots do you think it will get enough air

I am not sure if there is a difference or not. I know there is a difference between JT grill and the JL grill...

I have this bumper, winch, lights combo on my diesel. (The cattle dog really blocks the airflow. Thankfully, he fell off once I hit the interstate)

Iā€™ve noticed no change in temps. The stock suspension sags if a gnat farts on the hood.

If that dog fell out of the truck on the interstate, that would just give him a chance to run off ahead. He goes nonstop from 6:00 AM to midnight. Heā€™s crawling on my head as I write this after a 3 mile run. I need some cows.

I think it's largely location dependent because I see much higher temps here in AZ than I did in VA with the heat and actual mountains.

Yes, that is always my question on stuff like this. I am in Arizona and it regularly is over 100 degrees, 105 is common, and 110 is not unheard of.

I definitely saw a difference towing after installing my ARB bumper and lights. With the diesel de-rating issues I'm not sure that's something I'd play with. There's too many good stubby bumpers out there with hidden winches for way less money.
