So more a trick of the camera than? Perhaps it's the sport lip that throws it. Either way I feel the Leer looks more like a factory part and the ARE has more custom flair. Again, like I said in the half door thread, take some full side profile shots with a standard lens so we can see the true line.

Any reason to not include RLD or AluCab?
I installed an Alu-Cab with the 1450mm load bars and short mounting brackets (I wanted to get it in the garage), it is light and hell bent for strong... (Also installed a bedslide).

For me I ruled out the glass caps immediately, they looked great but were heavy and not as convenient as Alu-Cab or RSi. Having said that I really liked the ARE cap but still decided to go aluminum...

I went with Alu-Cab because it was i) one piece not bolt together, ii) loading capacity, iii) weight, and iv) roof and ceiling rails.

FWIW, here's my ARE. I ordered the Gladiator in Granite and no color match for the Freedom top. ARE has a Line-x like exterior option that seemed to match the factory Freedom finish well. The inside back window against the cab is removable for cleaning and the dual row led roof lights work pretty nice. Of course, it'd have been even nicer if it didn't cost $3K, but I'm happy with it -

Softopper with bike racks on each side. Can still fold and remove softopper without removing bike racks. Lots of work getting mounting platform to work but it was worth the effort. I hate bikes on the hitch, and wanted to be able to haul bikes without folding or removing softopper.

The metal ones get alot of condensation and in the sun could roast a turkey. I wouldnt be hauling dogs in one. Fair bit of doing to assemble the smart one. Definitely a two guy job . For the 200 bucks they charge to assemble well worth it . But the canopy is already an ignorant amount of money . The coolest part is is the aircraft style latches that jump open soon as you push the button . The side windows look absolutely irreplaceable if the company goes under. But super nice. Anyways they should spray foam them or something.

We are a dealer of Alu-Cab here in SoCal (Westminster, CA).
I didn't begin this business with the intention of selling Alu-Cab, but the quality won me over.

I can say with certainty, the Alu-Cab will win on durability and accessory options.
Not a lot of folks are aware of how functional a built out Alu-Cab Canopy can be, but it's honestly insane.

I would say it is at least worth checking out.

The leer is slanted as well in the rear. I’ve seen both the leer and ARE side by side and they are very close in terms of size/shape.
Thank you for this great information. Something to think about for sure.

I got a RLD topper gen #1 it was supposed to be a Gen #2 My one dislike of it is it's not the same width as cab (gen 1) I did get a good deal on it. My likes is it's a few inches taller than the hardtop I didn't think I would like that but it's got a few advantages. I can haul longer items on it without hitting the hardtop. Weight is about 170lbs base. Now probably around 190-200lbs so I lost 200-220 lbs of cargo capacity. Big plus I can stand up on it if I want to. It's not better than the others but I got it new in crate "fast" other than the shipping companies f###### up delivery. Would I buy another yes I like the lines of the Leer cap and later RLD better but no thanks for fiberglass topper I've had one before. FCA might have missed the boat on not having a OEM topper that matches the hardtop for some people.

I'm not much into caps, but that Leer looks really good. Something to consider. What did that run you if you don't mind me asking.
Mine with the rack, and the drop down middle window was $4500 CDN installed. Not cheap but I like it a lot, plus it’s fully insulated.
