Ding ding ding!

The certification process to officially 'rate' a hitch would cost exponentially more than justifiable. This is exactly why ALL (There are only a few) other companies with a high clearance bumper / hitch advertise it as offroad only.
I definitely understand that. But can you answer whether it is as strong or stronger than the factory receiver? I tow a decent bit. One offroad camping trailer that maxes at around 3,500, and a 14’ cargo that maxes at 7k. I don’t load down the cargo trailer, because it’s a gladiator, but I do get it to 5,000lbs loaded from time to time.

We will get some renders that show both the OEM and ours. From there folks can make their own decisions.

We cannot state that our hitch is as strong or stronger than factory.

Thanks for the responses. Understand it’s a liability issue to state an actual tow rating. As has been alluded to, just look at the thickness of the metal and the hardware used to mount to the frame and make a judgement call. I honestly wouldn’t even attach the tow bar until I needed to tow if it didn’t have the recovery points on it.

Man I really like that, but it's gonna cover up my EcoDiesel badge and Banks badge... šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļønow, I'll need a solution for that too! JEEP problems almost as bad as First World Problems! Wait, those are the same thing.
 I had the same thought! I dont want to cover the eco diesel badge. I then wondered if it could be mounted on the passenger side. With some modifications it could. But I'm not sure if Id want it on the passenger side. And before anyone says "By law it has to be on the driver side or center". The Ford Maverick has the license plate mounted on the passenger side.

Most patrol officers aren’t going to waste the time to pull you if the plate is clearly visible. You might get a ā€œletter of the lawā€ officer every now and again but most are going to abide by the ā€œspirit of the lawā€ and let it be. Unless you’re driving like an asshat then things might go slightly different.

This is definitely on my radar now. I, for one, think it looks great and like that it looks like I wouldn't have to do any bed trimming like the Evo High n Tight I was looking at. Hmm

That was one of our biggest things. Keep install simple - but maximize functionality while keeping aesthetics in mind.

This is a good segment about hitch design if anyone needs to understand what to look for. You can ignore the title and link goes to the hitch design segment. Enough metal and you can do anything....

No go, at least from all of our testing. It would also hang down well below the hitch so I am not sure anyone would want to run one, even if they could.
In normal travel is why a spare might be nice. It could be dropped when you need clearance. 90% of the time these trucks are street driven 10% they need clearance.

I think most of us have already figured out solutions for mounting a spare elsewhere if we're trying to find more clearance at the rear bumper.

I really like how this bumper looks and I've bought some JT and TJ stuff from Cavfab before, it's all been great value and held up to abuse. I recommend Cavfab all the time.

I just ordered an Artec comp rear bumper since I already split the fenders and I'll go ahead and cut the bedsides to really lift stuff up. Would be cool if Cavfab can work on something along those lines as well, although probably a lot more niche. The Cavfab flat center all the way across (unlike the Artec that drops down for a license plate) plus a bedside cut running up to split fenders would be a really serious bumper.

I ordered mine last week! I'll need to modify the wings but as a suggestion since they are separate anyways - an option for shorter wings for those of us for factory style bobbed beds would be really nice. anxiously awaiting the "shipped" email everyday!!

@CavFab_MFG That's too bad. I camp, tow heavy and wheel and would love to be able to keep my 37 under there still with your bumper as i don't have space elsewhere when in transit.
