I’ve got several 12v power supplies in my work shop. I’ve got one with an old Craig car stereo hooked up, with Arkay car speakers for sound. Real old stuff. Having a cd player isn’t a must, as I already have a stick, and use Bluetooth for my play list. I mainly am wanting something to make use of my bazillion cd’s.

I'm with you there, heck I've still got cassette tapes... and possibly a few 8 tracks. :giggle: my second vehicle had a factory 8 track in it.
Not likely I decide to get rid of my CD's as said digital media can be corrupted. I've lost a lot on music lists from that. Not as painful to replace a cheap jump drive vs scratched CD or cracked, tape stretch, ect. Saved on backup hard disk and CD's at home.
Dang I still need to get that media converter for my cassette tapes. My last cellphone I did keep several gigs of music stored on it. But now many have set amount of storage and don't accept a micro SD card. It had a 500 G SD card. One guy on my last deployment had 4 TB of music and videos on external H.D. The go to guy for movies and music.

We wrote all my parents LP’s over to CD a couple years ago. They still play the LPs but at least now we have a backup in case anything happens.

I have not bought a CD in 15+ years. Do they even make them any more? What archeological site do you buy them from?

Are you able to get reliable backups on CD?

All my burned CDs from years ago do not play.

Three of the ones I use for music in my Jeeps, other few are still in them. A lot of songs will fit on them 4 gb, 16gb, 32gb.

I've had that problem myself, on CD's I burned for backups. Especially if that CD drive failed. At least it's not as bad as the Zip drives or tape drives failures of the past.

I dont want to hijack this thread but wanted to let you know how to get a cheap garage power supply. I made this and now use it to power a car radio in my garage.

Snatched this out of my old desktop that's been in storage for years. I built it many moons ago.

Anyway, aside from an ammo can I have everything I need laying around for this project. Thanks for the idea.

Kept the Gladiator, and ended up getting a used 2018 Ram Long Horn 4x4. It rolled over 51,000 on the way home. Very well kept, nice truck. Was a local one owner trade in. Now, I feel I have the best of both worlds. It’s a trim level lower than the one I traded for the Jeep, but the wife and I are happy, (so far). It had a bit of a funky smell, (not as bad as whale meat), but I figured that out real quick. A rodent had made a nest under the intake. An air hose, and a little pressure washing later, looks and smells like new.
