Can anyone suggest a portable "plug and play" CD player using a USB port on a 2025 Jeep Gladiator? My 1st Jeep and 1st touch screen dash. Thanks!

CD player? Just rip your cd's to mp3's and put them on your phone. Phone can play them wirelessly to your jeep.

Spotify, Amazon music, Pandora. Carplay/Android Auto is awesome. Do they even sell CD's still?

In lieu of trolling, because well I'm guilty of doing weird shit too.

You may be able to take a typical disk walkman and plug it into the aux port in the Jeep. So, 3.5MM male to male audio cord from the headphone jack of the walkman to the aux port on the Jeep.

I have all the supplies to do this at home - so maybe I will experiment 😂

Pretty sure WalMart still carries them.

Then of course 2nd & Charles (big ass second hand book, movie, and music store), and I occasionally shop for older CD's at thrift stores.

If you are set on a portable CD player I would recommend going with a Mini Disc player instead of a CD Player. They don't skip, take up way less space. You can rip music straight to them and fit more music on a single minidisc and the disc are rewritable as well.

Is this thread for real? I have every CD imaginable available with carplay via your preferred provider. I understand for someone who doesnt want a service subscription, but thats where someone mentioned MP3.

Yes, connect to the dash USB port. The CD player must be able to plug directly into the USB; not via an adapter.

Key Details for Using USB CD Players:
  • Compatibility: The car must have a USB port that supports data (not just charging).
  • Functionality: The car stereo treats the external player like a USB flash drive, allowing you to play, skip, and pause tracks.
  • Limitations: Some units might not support all audio formats; WAV, MP3, or WMA are generally required.
  • Alternatives: You can also rip your CDs to a USB drive (as MP3/WMA files) and play them directly.

I have friends who aren't even 40 who don't have / don't know how to use home computers / laptops, so good luck getting those CD's to MP3's 😂

Another viable option is to get a usb drive and rip all your CDs to it, then plug it into the USB port and use it like an mp3 player you can leave plugged into the truck at all times. It won't draw power since it's just a memory chip and without a UI to request data, it won't do anything until you use it via the media tab on the radio.
