Would you think that doing it would fix this? This picture is post hand wash…

I'd go over that with a good water spot remover and then claybar.
Once it's cleaned up then you can see about buffing any scratches out with a good polishing compound.
I've never had a professional coating done, but I do my own full detail once a year and finish with a couple of coats of Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions. An occasional hand wash, but mostly just rinses keep it looking great and hydrophobic until I do it again in the late winter or Spring.

Mine is white so it doesn't show the pins as much. I try to do a quick wax on the sides before a run and that helps the brush slide easy on the paint. I know it's not as good as the real stuff but I use Lucas spray ceramic quick wax. Does a great quick job.
