You'd swear it was being driven remotely, dodged or otherwise missed anything that could have caused damage to it, or it to the object.
It couldn't have turned out better if it was actually planned.

From the video description:
"Here is the dash cam video of the Jeep decided to go for an off road advanture after the straps loosened off. (the dash cam is hardwired and runs anytime there is motion) "

GoPro doesn't do GPS speed telemetry on their videos the last time I checked.
I have an older Garmin VIRB camera. It's just like a GoPro. It does GPS, speed, rpm, g force, braking force, and a bunch of engine parameters.

Oka, not sure its gopro but whatever camera he had it seems odd to me that it would be activated while being towed. Maybe I'm just a skeptic here but seems very odd to me.
The Blackvue, along with many others have a "Park Protect" mode that will run at low power until it senses movement, then start recording. It's a pretty common feature on higher end and even mid-level cameras these days.

My wife's Grandfather had a few too many drinks about 80 years ago and passed out while driving down the two lane. He veered off the highway and hit the only pole on that stretch of the road. Had he missed that pole, he would have woke up in a corn field, instead of the hospital.

I had a similar experience towing a tractor. The road crew was grading the highway and left 2 inches of untouched pavement. When I hit the new pavement at 60mph, the trailer was launched up in the air. The 2 front straps ( not chains ) broke. The tractor rolled backwards in slow motion off of the trailer. The two rear straps did their best to hang on. The tractor fishtail left and right about 4-5 times until the two straps broke. The tractor did a 360 remaining on the wheels and came to a stop in the middle of three travel lanes.
I pulled over and got out of the truck to see the carnage. I saw the tractor just sitting there and all three lanes completely stopped. I got on the tractor, fired it up and pulled off to the side of the highway behind the trailer. I never looked at the cars as they slowly passed by me.

I tied knots in the broken straps and finished my journey. I use a chains for tie-downs now for the tractor.

Check your straps/ chains!
