Yeah, no one was hurt or killed and no property damage to others, and that's a really great things.
People have been killed over such "oversights" 9if you want to call it that nicely.......)
but like someone else asked under that video - how did the Jeep fare being towed on a dolly?

Frankly, such videos are just way too common, and getting more common. Won't comment further as it won't be nice.

To your question they either trashed the transmission or disconnected the drive shaft.

Maybe the took a car down, traded in for that and had to get it all home.

Who knows.

I saw a Jeep disconnect from a flat tow setup. The safety chains did their job. The jeep thrashed around a bit being towed by the chains. When the RV came to a stop, the Jeep crashed into the rear of the RV. I didn't stop to see how bad the damage was, but it was gone 30 minutes later.

The owner of the RV in this video got mighty lucky. Definitely not an expert, by evidence of the towing method or properly securing it to the dolly.

lucky ass MFer. flat tow it next time. idk why people use a dolly when its explicitly stated to not do that. I'm sure the T-case is fine if you dolly it but I still wouldn't road trip it like that.

Someone was looking out for them. That could have been really bad.

Who in the heck puts a GoPro in record mode in a towed vehicle unless they are making a YouTube video? Something not right here.
From the video description:
"Here is the dash cam video of the Jeep decided to go for an off road advanture after the straps loosened off. (the dash cam is hardwired and runs anytime there is motion) "

GoPro doesn't do GPS speed telemetry on their videos the last time I checked.

Well, that could have been a lot worse
Absolutely - it could have gone into other traffic for a head-on situation. Amazing, really, how smoothly that went. Hope it's a wake-up call for the owner. Sometimes things happen - and best to make it a learning experience and be really thankful that he doesn't have to deal with the families and insurance companies of others.
I have seen things like that go sideways - like the car my boss towed in that had the roof taken off when some joker towed a flatbed incorrectly and it dropped on the interstate - and a couple behind it went under it, not surviving. I will never be able to get the look of that car, or the thoughts out of my head.
There's also recent videos of people killed by wheels leaving vehicles and bouncing up onto hoods and windshields.
This guy was lucky. Hope he realizes it wasn't just his Jeep that was lucky and safe.

Oka, not sure its gopro but whatever camera he had it seems odd to me that it would be activated while being towed. Maybe I'm just a skeptic here but seems very odd to me.

I think it said that it activated when it detected motion.
So, towing the vehicle, and hitting any bump at all should trigger it, meaning it would be running pretty much the whole trip.

I take it that it's meant to come on if anyone is messing with the Jeep, moving it to get in, stealing it, and that otherwise it's not running or "on" at all.

If I read it correctly, that camera would be making video the whole trip, from the time he first started towing it.
