Honestly, the steel bumper is a little bit of a questionable item anyway. As it turns out it's not really winch ready and it requires about $300+ worth of parts and plates to add a winch. you might be better off spending that $1000 on an aftermarket bumper specially if it means the steel bumper will delay delivery. I wish I had known that yesterday cause I would have probably deleted it myself. Oh well.

Does tweaking an order bump your order to the back of the line?

Not true..$199 or less for a winch plate. . .

If then, $700 for Bumper, $200 for Plates, that's $900. Plus the OEM bumper is probably worth $150 used when you sell it, so now you have $1050 to work with. And again, if its going to delay your order, aftermarket might be the right solution.
Don't get me wrong, my order has the steel bumper, but if I was told it was going to delay delivery I would opt out of the steel bumper in a heartbeat.

Not arguing that an aftermarket bumper can be cheaper, just that the plate isn't $300+.

Having installed a Warn 10-S on my JLR, with a non-Warn plate, can be done inexpensively. Having also installed aftermarket bumpers on previous Jeep(s), I've spent a heck of a lot more $ for what is basically a winch plate.

Personally, I like the stock bumper. Also, having paid a lot less than invoice for both my JL and Gladiator, the cost of the bumper is minimal.

My 2 cents....The OEM bummers hold up pretty well to rust. The aftermarket are about a 50/50 gamble. The OEM bummer is pretty light weight compared to most aftermarket, which effects performance and stance on the suspension. Big plus for the aftermarket you get to customize a unique look.

There are my pros and cons.

You'll cave in like @pilotpat and @robbyr1000 if you keep stalking. Who knows, I may cave too if/when they start showing up on dealer lots on the west coast.
NEVER! Always tempted, but never persuaded. Is that a thing? Sounds like somthing a guy would say to the wife, lol.
