I think part of the issue with my dad's one was my garage was to low, so the thing got painted in pollen in my shed, inside and out.had both tops on my 2014 before just traded in for my JT, also with both tops.
made a very cheap lift in garage with 6 eyebolts and ratchet straps.
never had an issue, hangs for 6 months of the year, out of the way, simple to do.
7th year of using this method.
Living where you are it probably makes a lot more sense to own both. Where I am I have had topless and doorless days in December, January, and March (only a lot of topless but no doorless days in February). Just to many opportunities not to use a hard top. Guessing it isn't too bad on the JT, but that thing on the JKU was a bitch moving by myself.
