My Milwaukee cordless did a great job every time I've swapped springs or arms on my Jeeps.
I didn't have any real problems. But then I guess when you are used to tightening tractor wheels and other tractor parts, you get used to either breaking things loose - or just breaking them (yeah, been there, body bolt)
I don't like heat around bushings at all - and frankly, there's no need for it in this case.
You have to heat the nut FAST so the heat doesn't have time to spread, any slow method and the heat will spread and it will take forever and you'll ruin things.

Without a lift I am never able to get the leverage I need to torque past 120lbs with my torque wrench. I wish I could fond a 190lbs, but 170lbs was the closest I could find...
The lowers are easily done from outside of the vehicle, not under it.
Uppers, that's a different story.........

I think that's the problem, I'm out of practice!

I have said many times that I had a 2500 4x4 that someone in Houston loved more than me so they stole it (a lot of tools lost). I replaced that vehicle with a Honda and never popped a hood again while I took my secret stash of $$$ and bought myself a brand new Indian motorcycle. The bike, my red headed girlfriend, took all of my attention after that. She was delicate so I never replaced the larger tools that I lost. Vertigo took the bike from me and I need a toy so I replaced it with the JT.

I work from home and I'm on vacation next week so I have plenty of time to fiddle with it. Don't think I'll get to it again until Thurs. I had this so well planned out in my head and it was all going so well until the control arms. I think once I have the proper tools I'll be in an out in no time!

@ShadowsPapa made an excellent point that I had not thought of when re-torquing, uppers vs lowers ...

Dewalt DCF923 took mine off, no problem. I think it might be one of the most compact that's capable of doing these

More in common than I realized......... currently going through weekly PT and daily exercises to learn how to live with lack of balance (54% loss of inner ear function, left side). Sold my Yamaha Maxim years ago due to Meniere's and it's done nothing but get worse since. Getting under a vehicle and then back up can make me sick on some days.

My wife knows - if I ever end up swapping trucks again, I'll have to hire help to make the un-mods happen to this one.

I just did this job., for the second time. Previous was on my JLUR. I use this DeWalt DCF899H If I can't get it off with the 36 inch breaker bar. 1200 Ft/Lb of breakaway torque.

Sorry to hear about the Meniere's. My brother has had it for at least 10 years now. He has a tough time with it. He is 11 years younger than me, hope I don't get it.

The pressure was too much so I pulled the trigger an bought one. Is it a Dewalt, Milwaukee? Hell I don't remember the name but it came with two batteries and a charger. My feeling is this. Outside of the control arms and some other rare bolts I don't see myself using it often - hence cheap/PRC crap. I know what I'm getting myself into and that's why I did a cost benefit analysis in my head and didn't buy the most expensive.

@ShadowsPapa - I feel for you and almost wish it was due to an inner ear issue. Riding was never an issue, because a motorcycle is a rolling gyroscope, but the standing still was the problem :). That bike rolled on its side so many times just in the garage alone it was ridiculous. Thank goodness for crash bars! Bike was 900lbs and I'm 160 on a fat day. My back had enough!

Anyone but me have a toy gyroscope as a kid? Remember when? Thought it was so cool because the astronauts used them in space while drinking Tang and Ovaltine. 60's/70's was a great time to be a kid!

As long as you got one with enough power it doesn't matter what kind it is.

My impact (besides the multiple air type)

Part of my issue is being wobbly while walking, or turning my head I get off balance and almost fall. It's the standing and walking, getting up and down, because, as I'm told, there's an imbalance of signals telling brain which way is up.
In the shower I don't dare close my eyes or I'll fall down.

Gyroscopes? Oh, yeah. Had one that had been my fathers, and a newer one as well.

If you like gyroscopes..............

Walking or doing anything while turning my head causes issues and I have the same shower fears. I have nystagmus which is a big contributor and all signs and symptoms of a much larger genetic "gift" given to me by my mothers family. Google Cerebellar ataxia and get back to me :). Extremely rare and 100% fatal. Much like cancer you can never beat it but you can outlast it! I plan to outlast it!!! I'm too mean to die
