Rag tops - In my mind I LOVE the ability to quickly go topless in my Jeeps. Then I owned the first one a 2005 Rocky Mountain edition and the noise on the highway was deafening. Couldn't even make a cell phone call. I tried again with a 2012 JLU thinking it might be better. Nope that one was also noisy as hell, it leaked when it rained and it was cold as a witches ass in the winter. So I'll never own another Jeep rag-top.

Removable roof panels - Today I live in a desert environment which is ideal for off-road enthusiasts, the opportunities to get away from civilization are ENDLESS!!! BUT it's either too cold or too hot to go topless anyway, and the sun will just cremate you in your seat any time of the year. There may be 2 weeks in the early summer or early fall when the idea is appealing and maybe even doable in comfort temperature wise, but then again I'd need to apply 1,000,000 SPF to my body in order to do it for more than a few minutes.

Tubular doors - cool look but desert wheeling is DUSTY and dirty. I'm ok with a dirty outside of my Mojave, I'm even Ok with dirty mats etc. I would NOT be Ok collecting half of the Mojave desert INSIDE my Jeep.

I guess in summary for my needs the Gladiator could be just a nice regular fixed hard-top truck and it would be just fine by me.

But not everyone drives/wheels and lives where and how I do so I'm curious how folks on other areas of the country realistically view Jeep Gladiators and what they could live without...

Have no desire to take my doors off and put tube doors on.

99% of lighting mods are worthless to me.

Dash mounts, rail systems, molle panels... I'm not taking that much crap with me. I have no need to keep most of it with me all the time.

AC outlet in the bed. Truck came with it and the good stuff outweighed the bad by miles. I’d have thrown 12v DC panel in there before an AC panel.

Single tow hook on the rear. I’m rectumfying this in the next couple days but would it really break the bank to have both tow hooks on there? It’s an off-road oriented vehicle. Put the damned tow hooks it’s tapped for on it.

Same here. Thanks to this forum I knew that the mojave rear bumper trim piece would fit in the sport rear bumper so I told the dealership "replace this trim piece with this, install a second tow hook, and you have a sale."

Wild that they don't just ship all of them with that

I didn’t mind that for short trips around town but looking under seats to find my cell phone that escaped during an off-road bump is tiresome. That and I like to keep track of Amazon Music while running OnX Off-road on my main screen so that why the Bulletpoint stuff is on my dash with a magnetic charger so it’s a no brainer to slap it on and off even on short trips. It’s also cool that my wife can hang her iPad mini and watch Hulu or Prime videos while I drive. She loves that.

I installed the Anvil Overland bar as my first addition.
Holds our two phones, the rear camera mini-tablet (if hauling something big) and my handheld GMRS backup radio. Makes routing USB cables easier than the various Bulletpoint like holders.

It's still one of the best things I've added two years later.

Trail rails.

They're not as practical as I'd hoped nor is there a wide array of reasonably priced aftermarket connector thingamabobs around. . Once I put the molle panels in I should have just taken them out entirely.

I only got the trail rails to mount my sport bar. Otherwise I don't find any use for it. Power outlet in the bed is so so. I have only used it to run a softball pitching machine during practice when our field's power was being repaired.

This!!! Blows my mind that they don't all just have two hooks in the rear. Especially on the upscaled "off-road" models like my overland. How the hell does that make sense??

It is a super easy mod to add though so at least there's that. I did it recently. Helpful hint, if you loosen the frame mount bolts it helps the bumper go back on without you having to bruise the hell out of your knee trying knee it back into place...

I use mine a ton. Well - I dont have factory trail rails. I have unistrut painted black, and my tie down hooks are small loops, three down each side, that lay flat when not in used. Not the big bulky ass things that come with the real trail rails.

Yall had me curious. $100 for one off eBay. Nahhh.

I guess if I find a real cheap one I might add it to my truck. Ive never even used the driver side one in four years that I remember.

Symmetry wouldn't make me mad tho.
