CPLAY2air Wireless Adapter

Weird.. I am on the 7" and an iPhone 11 (and will be 12 Mini once they are available next month). Of note I normally keep my phone in my front right pocket so there is only about a foot between the phone & receiver when I am in the JT.

I could use some tips on getting it working with the 7 inch. I plugged it in and got nothing, my instructions talk about downloading an app???

So you guys are noticing any lag with the carplay2air dongle. I had one for my Grand too and it just wouldn’t work and the few times it did, there was a ton of lag. They sent a replacement that was even worse. Shipped it back right as the Covid lockdown happened and now it’s lost at sea somewhere. Just shows leaving Miami for months now. Lol

Plugged it in to the truck. Turned on the truck.. Went to bluetooth devices on my phone & searched for it.

If I remember right the app was just to do updates or something like that.

It does! Just in the dash. The center console data port on my 21 rubicon is flakey, sounds like a bunch of folks have the same issue.

Did you try the other one, as well? Curious as to whether the issue might be my console port or carplay dongle (Which does work flawlessly in the dash)

Nope, I have the one I linked below that works on a Mazda Miata and also my Mojave, so I have two of them.

I bought the CarlinKit 3.0 Wireless CarPlay Adapter back in May 2023. I'd say I'm 95% happy with it. Occasionally it won't sync, but it's been less often after I updated the software. The other annoyance was that it stays on, as the USB ports are powered. So I solved the two issues by purchasing a Cable Matters USB On Off Switch - so if I need to resync it's a simple on/off or if I want it turned off while I'm working around the garage I can easily do it.

Based on the comment given by Y-Guy, Yes, they stay powered on. I'm going to imagine the amount of battery drain depends on the units draw and the time it remains "on" and unattended.

The other annoyance was that it stays on, as the USB ports are powered
