Crooked handbrake

I swear it was more to the right, aka straight when I got it. Word appreciate if somebody could show me their handbrake.

I have a manual so I use mine every park. Hill assist is great.

It was one of the first things I noticed when I was test driving. EVERY JT I sat in at the dealer lot had this identical representation. A Sport S, Overland, and a Rubicon Launch Edition all had the same. My OCD went into overdrive.

I get the blue space is probably for your hand to fit. Just WHY DOES MY MEMORY SAY IT WAS STRAIGHT?!?!?!???!!!!!!

your not crazy. I am fairly OCD and didn't notice this but had to go outside and check. I have not used the parking break even as a test and this is what it looks like untouched.

I take pictures for the vehicles on our lot and they are all that way...

seem to be straight when looking from the normal driving position but when looking from the middle of the back seat then they are offset to driver..

Mine is the same. Doesn’t really bother me, but I noticed it right away. Sloppy design and/or craftsmanship.

Mines at the same angle. Pretty sure this is done purposely. If it was straight like the red line in the above picture someone with fairly large hands/fingers might have trouble grabbing the handle quickly in case of emergencies.

Agree with above. It’s offset so you can yank that handle up. Maybe in a hurry like in an emergency Be hard to do that with fingers alone quickly without slipping.
It’s giving your knuckles some room.

Thanks for making me notice this and ruining my life . Truthfully I'm not sure how I didn't notice it as I pull the handbrake up every time I park

It has to be that way to get your hand around it. My hand just fits without scraping my knuckles. If it was 'more straight' I wouldn't be able to easily pull the brake up. I set it every time I park, since I regularly use the remote start.
