Just thought I would share how I installed my Redarc Tow Pro Elite trailer brake controller. The basics have been covered in this forum several times, so no surprises there. But I fabricated an aluminum mounting panel that I thought might be of interest to some.
Since I have an Overland model, I had an empty cubby where the Rubicon lockers would normally be. So I fabricated an aluminum panel to cover that cubby and allowed me to mount the control knob there. I made some L brackets and epoxied them to the panel. I also epoxied the nuts to the L brackets as you can't reach the nuts once inside the cubby. There are already two holes in the bottom of the cubby that hold the rubber mat. I used those to attach the L brackets. Afterwards I painted it with VHT wrinkle plus. Overall it produced a very clean install. Knob is within easy reach to make adjustments or use the manual override.
I did a video on the install that might be useful if anyone wants to recreate for their install. It shows how I made the panel and how to take apart the dash to access the back of the cubby. You will need to drill a hole in the back of the cubby for the wiring.
Originally I ordered harness TPH-001 but later discovered it was back-ordered. So I ended up using harness TPH-020 and swapping the blue/black wires.
