Completely new to the Jeep world, and I start with a 2023 Gladiator Mojave.

I’m looking for a dashboard mounting system for a phone, radar detector, and a dashcam. Maybe a GPS as I get further afield.

Two names I’ve heard a lot are Bulletpoint and RAM mounts. What are your experiences with these? Is there a clear winner or is it personal preference?

I have the RAM system. I can’t speak to any other stuff. You can get the bigger balls (?) for iPads, Garmin, etc. which is nice. However it doesn’t really improve the stability. My arms don’t rest on the dash, so maybe that’s the problem. Also maybe this is just par for the course with any of the systems, but I find the RAM stuff to be flexy. I added a piece of foam to dampen mine. I also don’t like how on RAM stuff one knob controls both ends of the arm. This makes adjusting just part of it a real pain.

I use Bulletpoint in my wrangler and gladiator.
I'm very happy with the bulletpoint solution. You can get the panel out in the new rubigrid much easier to add more mounting points or move the ones currently installed. Mine is SOLID, no vibrations. There are ball adapters out there you can use in case the device doesn't use a 20mm(I think thats what bulletpoint uses) ball. RAM mount uses 1 inch, if I recall.

I've never used any of the RAM mount products in my jeeps. I had them on my motorcycles and they worked great.

67 designs has one, which I don't like the look of.
Vector Offroad has this big ass rail that goes across the whole dash. you could potentially install more stuff on it, but I'm not a fan

I use Bulletpoint also just for my phone. Love it so far. Very solid and no vibrations, but at the same time easily rotates and pivots when you need to do so

I have the design 67 for my JTM and am very happy with it. I bought a system for my brothers 392 Recon Wrangler and for my 2022 F350 thats how much we like them.

I have only used ram. Not opposed to others but they (ram) work for me in Jeep and boat applications. From cell phone to 12” screens in the boat. Then again, I’m a bit oF a brand follower, if it works.

I've got a collection of Ram-mount stuff been using for years the same fishing, 4wheelers, and Jeeps. Some have been frustrating in JT. But do use Ram-mount in JT. I bought a Amazon center dash mount... dang I should have got it first. Added a 1" tube Ram-mount ball addition too. Could have cellphone, camera(s) and tablet mounted between all of them. Most are good I just don't recommend any to screw into passenger grab bar, it's plastic and will strip out if your driving on corrugated roads with smartphone mounted.

I used RAM on my last vehicle for years and on my motorcycle - they have never failed me and hold solid despite shock, vibration, and extreme temperatures. There are also tons of accessories made to fit their system, making it really easy to add things like satellite messengers/beacons and other goodies.

I use RAM tracks with 1 inch ball, 6 inch ball to ball connector, and 1 inch ball quadlock mount.

The 6inch arm is bouncy with a heavy phone on the end of it, but my phone has pretty amazing image stabilization when i'm recording video so I haven't bothered with any dampening solutions.

I've used Ram Mounts for years in both my personal and fleet vehicles. Used them for phones, tablets, laptops, and test gear. Never had issues with them.
