I installed a 2” Mopar lift on my Sport S last week and came to the realization I had less clearance into my garage as I thought.

I planned on putting 35s to replace the 255/70/18s I currently have but I may now have to go to 33s. Does anyone know how much 35s add to the overall height?

I measured at a little less than 3” in my non scientific measuring.

looks like you can go up to a 315/70/18 or any 35" tire.

Also, garage doors hang down from the absolute height, so you might just need to make a stick to hold the door all the way up when you go in or out of the garage.

Looks like you can adjust your garage door some. Pull the door back a couple of inches to get a inch or 2 more height.

Exactly what I thought. Travel adjustment. Easy fix.

A Question, why 18 in wheels.. also.. 35s rarely measure out to 35 in diameter.. my 35/11.50x17s Toyo measure 34.25" .. running 27psi (chalk tread print tested); so measure your current tires diameter and now you have a base line. It has been posted on multiple forums that BFG KOs measure smaller in diameter.

I shoulda clarified I got a set of 17x9 wheels I’m gonna put the 35s on. The 18” wheels I’m gonna sell.

The stock Rubicon/Mojave tires, which are nominal "33's", are 32.8" or 32.9", depending on MT or AT. Most "35s" I researched when I got my tires are between 34.4" and 34.5". So you'll gain (34.4-32.8)/2= .8" with a 35" vs a 33".

Stock tires on a Sport S are 245/45/17, so should be around 31.5". So you'll gain (34.4-31.5)/2 = 1.45" with a 35, and (32.8-31.5)/2=.65" with a 33"

You can adjust the garage door opener to be fully open and it will give you a couple of more inches. My Gladiator with 3.5” on 37s fit within a 7ft door with room to spare.

Doesn't look like you will have a clearance problem with either 33's or 35's. What you need to consider is gearing. I put 33's with 3.73 gears and 3.6 gas. When on the freeway the glad spends a lot less time in 8th gear. Where I live there is not much flat ground. For me 35's would be fine with 4.10's.

As othered mentioned it looks like your door will go up a little higher. Since it’s on an opener you can take the cover off and adjust the limit switches and give you couple more inches.
