...just as an "oh by the way", I use a much smaller caliber for hunting deer. I usually stick with a .308.

Ugh so parts arrive and body shop looked at the wrong paperwork so some parts are still on back order until middle of November. So stuck without it for some time more. Strike among other things causing supply problems apparently. Should have had them do aftermarket parts from the start. Oh well, I don't have a heated garage so most likely be too damn cold by time get it back. So I'll have some time to save and pick out what I want when I do the bumper swap in the spring.

I spoke to my body shop yesterday. The sheet metal is fixed, they were waiting on the bumper cover, which was proving difficult to get. No aftermarkets in stock and Mopar dealers were not easily letting go of what they had. As we were conversing, his parts manager came up and said the bumper cover arrived.

Might have the Grand back Friday.

If you want an authentic Mopar 3 piece bumper and don't mind used, my brother just bought one from a slavage yard on ebay. Seller has a good rating + sent him a offer for $510 after about 2 days on his watch list. Free shipping, hasn't been sent out yet, will update once it arrives.

Paint the gold hooks red, or keep the black ones, and you're set.
I want to try this but the one I have a bead on, doesn’t come with the mounting hardware, anyone know if the mounting hardware on my stock plastic sport bumper will work to mount the rubicon steel? Google search is yielding inconsistent answers

I think there were a couple threads here talking about that specifically. Also a youtube I don't remember which 3-piece specifically. But I found one from amazon recently while considering that and found someone installing it talking about what it does and doesn't come with. There were some things like the gap piece and some hardware.

I think that will depend on who you get it from though.

Saga with getting parts to the body shop continues...

So after twice getting parts back ordered and suppliers changing date all but two parts finally arrived, some aesthetic snap on trim was all that remained. So said I could have it this afternoon and when the those trim pieces finally arrived they'd give me a call and I'd have them install them quickly.

Then got call about 20 minutes before I was due to pick it up, they told me they apparently had the wrong grille. Thought it would fit but it doesn't. They would put old one on but would need it back early Monday to test fit grille and then needed to paint the grille yet of course. Didn't need it for the weekend and told them if the proper grille was due Monday morning to keep it and I'll pick it up once they had the grille and had it painted and ready next week. As long as I had something to drive over Thanksgiving, they could install the old damaged one if they didn't have it yet for whatever reason.

So which grille wouldn't fit I wonder? I guess just never read into any of the threads or cares enough about the grille to know if there was a substantial difference in fit for the newer grilles or the older JL grille. Thought was just the width of the inserts that differed not the grille itself?

So got it back finally. Looks great and drives fine.... but whomever they had align the jeep aligned the steering wheel at 10 o'clock instead of 12. Not sure how a professional alignment gets the steering wheel off like that. I did drive it until after they were closed. So didn't catch it until I picked it up. Which apparently triggers the esc warning? Anyways it's heading back to them after the holidays. Ugh this is becoming a bloody Greek tragedy. At least it's pretty and shiny...

So finally getting jeep back again. It was due to the botched alignment where they didn't align the steering wheel correctly. tripped the sensor in the steering wheel. They then needed to re-calibrate the sensor in steering wheel.

Also note on the bumper: I ended up getting the rugged ridge spartan bumper with high clearance ends. I like the look and got it on bf deals. It arrived and plan on doing install in spring, weighs in at just under 70 pounds w/o a winch.

So now off to think about what winch I can add without adding too much sag to the front. I don't know if the bumper itself will do much but know once adding the weight of a winch that it might.

So thinking of either doing 1.5" spacer, if can I can get away with that. Currently run the 265/70/17 just shy of 32" mark at the lugs to the ground last time measured, so at most if I ever put bigger tires on it will be to 285/70/17 size.

So any advice on too much sag before I should start to add pucks or different setup?
