I think the keyless Fob is better and keeps me from misplacing my keys. I just stick it my pants, like I do my wallet, when I get dressed…and it stays there until I’m done for the day. Key never moves, never gets misplaced. And I don’t have to dig around for it when I drive the truck.

I love keyless entry/start and don’t think I could go back to a key.

You made assumptions, anyhow, irrelevant and no I don't want to change your views, as I've mentioned before that's a diy job. Will see how the posts age here, keeps going one direction...it's not my direction btw...it's just thee direction.

Many programmed to distractions and otherwise to think nothing of it, so you can keep on with the cognitive dissonance and confirmation bias as long as you like...and you can keep on being wrong too...this stuff takes time but we've sure learned a bunch the past couple years haven't we.

Funny how one group of people has been so good at predicting the future...it should be obvious by now that one group knows because they did the journey and read the playbooks while the other one keeps believe the fairytales always told to us combined with being distracted by at least a half dozen two party divides and couple 'crisis' at any given time, looped on repeat, once you see that crap for what it is it gets easier, not on your mind though as coping through the wake up is as tough a thing as anyone will go through, takes awhile. Lot's at play, psychologically it's a monster to explain, easy things to see though are people prefer comfortable lies to uncomfortable truths (the comfort addiction alone can be quite a topic and that's been indoctrinated in the education system a long time, go ask any 20 year old...if it's uncomfortable information they see it as untrue), I digress. But there's also the 'once you acknowledge evil you must stand against it...that's what part of being a good human is about. There's a lot of people don't want to do that either...so keep choosing those comfortable lies. Carry on...

But to stay somewhat on topic...I'm telling ya, if your car is connected bye thin air to something loosely in the vicinity, that's pretty bad and was a prime example of people doing what they do, take a perfectly good thing and overcomplicating it and having to solve for a can of worms worth of potentials and problems all for the sake of being able to push a button. Doh. Worse yet is if it can be operated via thin air by someone else...if that's the case it's not your car, yet you paid for it.

Having a non-physical link to care and control of the vehicle is a bad idea, always will be. The key was the best. Only the wing nut behind the wheel could start it, drive it, stop it. The rfid air link fobs are terrible idea, they can go for a walk at any point while the vehicle is running. I guess it's just too simple and people seem to have a hard time seeing why that's a bad idea but 'I like buttons' lol....'I like walking up to my space ship and everything just opens and turns on by itself' and 'I'd rather it just drive me where I wanna go by voice command', lmfao....time and a place. If your vehicle and everything it does is liable and connected to you by insurance and laws etc....best have 100% full ownership care and control. Just sayin...again

Not a troll, a real person, with that ever rarified thing called common sense. ;)
I genuinely stopped reading this about a third of the way down. Incomprehensible. You’re off your rocker, and I’m not speaking about your viewpoints, but your inability to communicate. Stop replying to me.

I think someone’s tin foil hat is a bit too tight. Might want to move up a size.

Properly configured wireless keys are much safer and harder to crack than physical keys. It's also trivial to remove a lost wireless key, and much harder to change physical locks if you lose a key. People who have nearly zero understanding of tech, or in some peoples' cases, negative knowledge because they believe bullshit, simply can't comprehend that.

Also I'm kinda offended by the OP's comment about men don't use purses. I'm a man the last time I checked and I use a "Purse" aka small messenger bag. I got shit to carry man.

RELAX!!!

It's a joke.

Although I do use a messenger bag and I'm okay with people calling it a purse.
I prefer the term, murse. This thread is uh interesting though.

I carry a gorgeous natural leather laptop bag. $250, but I simply refuse to carry the ugly black nylon garbage. I once dropped off our BMW for service (the stereotypes write themselves), and walked over to the bar/grill across the street for a beer and to do some work. I had no idea we had dumbass redneck bars so close to the city (I'm just around the border of the desert). Some drunk idiot started making "purse" comments and called me a fucking faggot.

I got my beer and said, "Yeah, I'm going to take my $250 purse out to the patio, and get my $2k laptop out of it. Then I'm going to drink a beer while billing more in one hour than you've made all week."

His friends are probably still laughing at him.

Also reality is that women LOVE this thing and want to walk over and touch it (super soft), and talk to me. Score.

While I've got to install microwave ovens.............

You need to visit the markets in Korea - I mean every type, size, style, price, whatever, of bags, backpacks, computer "bags" - you name it.

Yeah, I wish I could. Also parts of Mexico, which are much closer to me, but these days the border crossing has become a real pain.

One of the first things I did after starting my business was to buy a nice leather bag for my laptop. It’s still in great condition after 13 years of use. The nylon junk lasts a few years at best, and looks like crap. Part of dressing professionally in front of clients.

Ironically, some of my peers honestly believe that my bag is too flashy, and stands out in a bad way, and that they look more professional. They will probably always stay junior techs because of that attitude.

Off on a tangent here, I do appreciate that my Jeep has a mechanical brake lever. Every car manufacturer has opted for some sort of electronic switch to engage and disengage the parking brake.
It's sad that a switch and a couple of cam actuators are cheaper than a cable system.
But then we have to deal with the AutoPark system, whereas the electric brake type can just set the brake.

Cable e-brakes are fine - but............. the cables rust, they wear, they stretch and need to be adjusted as things wear and the cable stretches. My WJ was to the point with the lever back as far as it would go the brakes were hardly applied and yet the parking brake shoes themselves were ok.

Pros and cons to each system. One project in my Javelin is to replace the parking brake cables which have started to fray and the main front cable is rusty to the point of sticking.
