-i searched but didn't see a real succinct answer. Sorry for the extra question-

Per my last thread, I give up. I still can't find a dealer or independent that can unlock and clone my PCM. I'm just gonna send Martin my OEM PCM and have it stage 2 tuned. I'll skip having him clone my spare PCM as I'm out of wartanty anyway.
With that, am I ok to drive around on the tuned PCM until I can install all the proper delete parts?
I'm guessing yes, but wanted to see if there were any pitfalls, aside from not getting the full fuel economy increases until I remove the DPF..
Thanks for your help!

I'm interested in this as well. I'm considering having the PCM tuned and later on buying and installing the shiny bits later. So I'm wondering the same thing you are.

Ok I think I saw your last thread and you wanted it done locally or nothing.

If you want to ship your shit to me I'll clone it for you, assuming it's starting out stock. Just pay both ways and a 6 pack would be nice. I'm 55044.

As for your later question, I suspect you'll fill your DPF pretty quickly with no system in place to burn it out. Just buy all the parts needed and do it at once, I don't know why you'd do it any other way. Wait for the delete parts to come in first if that's the way you're going to do it.

Sorry for the confusion. I already have all my parts. Full exhaust, full EGR physical delete. I'm just wanting some flexibility on the install. This Gladiator is my daily driver. I travel for work a lot...I don't have a lot of free time period. LOL. I'm just wanting to get the PCM back, tuned and then load all my stuff up and drive 15 miles to my buddy's diesel shop (with a lift) to install it all.
I just sent off my OEM PCM to Martin for tuning today. That's still probably over a week of transit time before I get it back. Luckilyvi can steal my daughters Passat for the duration. 😎
EOC says it's ok to drive on the emissions parts while tuned for about 50 miles before, as you mentioned, the DPF will plug up. That all makes sense.
Thanks for the info guys!

Oh man! First off, thank you so much for the offer. I really appreciate it. If I hadn't already sent my stuff off to Martin I would totally take you up on it. Much appreciated.
I think I've got it sorted. I decided to grow a pair and just ship off my OEM PCM.
Thanks again!

Pulling the exhaust isn't that bad, some struggle with the band clamp bolt on the downpipe. The tail pipe is a bit of a challenge to get out in one piece, many just cut it in half to remove. If you want to keep it in one piece, put jack stands under the frame and droop out the rear suspension and take out the trackbar bolt and it will move out of the way so you can take the tailpipe out without cutting it.

For me, its cost. Doing the entire delete is costly for me. But if I can do the PCM now and then do the exhaust later, that would be easier on me. But if that wont work then I will pony up now.

I guess you could get the tune and knock the guts out of the DPF and run that.

Yeah, I just read the rest of this thread. Sounds like it will only work for a extremely short time. I'll just pull the trigger on the entire set up.
