This was absolutely no different than any other custom order, other than you had only one configuration to pick from and the only option you had was color. If you wanted to place a custom order today (now that order banks are open), you can pick your dealer, pick your options (obviously many more options available now), and that JT will be built for you and only you. The pricing is strictly between you and the dealer when you place the order. No bidding war.

@Adawg1203 stated the price was in print. The price is whatever you negotiated with your dealer. Many folks didn't question LE pricing and are probably paying full MSRP. Many of us on this forum selected dealers that were 5% under invoice/~11% under MSRP. Again, that was a function of choosing the right dealer and had zero to do with Jeep concierge service.

The concierge service didn't add any value to that ordering process, other than to read from a script and try to connect you to a dealer. They had zero information on ordering timeframes and referred all my questions to my dealer. I had 3 entries in the on-line system (2 by me to change color, one by my dealer while I was on the phone with him) on 4/3. On 4/4 at 7AM I got the concierge call and they "tried" to connect me to my dealer (both of the initial calls before the dealer was even opened) by putting me on endless hold. My dealer called me independent of the Jeep concierge service when he arrived in the morning.
That is true - my dealer here at Ourisman Clarksville, MD told me that I am the only one who got a discount on the LE and they had placed 4 orders. (The rest of them were paying MSRP) I basically haggled with him mentioning the prices from this forum LOL and the TL FCA affiliate pricing... tbh, I am not really anxious for the truck, it comes when it comes. In the mean time, I am preparing on making a list of mods and other things I can take care of :). Also, this allows me to save more money to put down and I had previously thought of putting 30% down and if it delays into August I will put 50% down... so it is a win-win for me

I don’t understand this. How did you pick a dealer that was some percent below another dealers invoice when they (dealers) had zero information on the vehicles. The dealers themselves (unless ordering for themselves) weren’t expected to receive LE models.

When concierge called me on 4/5 they asked where I wanted the vehicle shipped. There was no opportunity to question dealers around the state on who would sell me me LE the cheapest. In fact several dealers my way, had no clue what the LE even was, when I inquired about it prior to open reservation. So I'm curious on the route you and others took.

The dealer did state to me that, any incentives/discounts could be applied, but ultimately will be determined by Jeep and they (dealer) could not ā€˜markup’ the price. I interpreted that as trying to sell the LE above MSRP.

Your comment just reinforces my point that Jeep concierge service was worthless in the whole LE process. The dealers entered orders into the system, not Jeep concierge service, and pricing is negotiated between buyer and dealer without any Jeep involvement.

Based on the JL forum and the JL discount map (https://sites.google.com/view/wranglerdeals/home), forum members had a pretty good idea which dealers were willing to actually deal. When LE & pricing were announced, several of those dealers posted on here or members contacted the dealers directly (Travis @ TriCity, Spencer @ Spirit Lake, Kent @ Peterson, Ourisman, etc.). I think ultimately the best LE pricing was 5% under invoice when the Jeep site opened for "reservations" or whatever you call that fiasco, and we put in the zip code for the dealer we have been working with.

You may be able to get a discount with a FCA affiliate program like tread lightly. Indications are right now dealers may not honor that as of today, but that may change by the time LEs are available for pickup.

Thank you for the information. I never discussed a pre-negotiated price/term and assumed MSRP plus any applicable discounts. i will try the affiliate discount route, in hopes that will be honored.

Other than that I am out of options since it’s not like i can get up and walk away unless I go for a non LE model which isn’t an option either....Oh well I’ll see what happens when the vehicle arrives (whenever that will be).

My point really is back to the OP's question. Jeep did not mislead on the LE (i.e. gave out false information), but they didn't provide any useful information either. Lack of information is not misleading. The tough questions I asked were only answered by my dealer, not Jeep. But I asked the questions and made sure I was satisfied with the answers before I placed my order.

We dont feel mislead either, its kind of a bummer that "Launch Edition" Has no meaning.. We are waiting for the truck for our YouTube Channel and our 50 state trip.. The long wait we just get to pick more crap to buy and make install videos....

Till we have a date, we are going to keep our 2017 Tacoma, once we have a date... later tacoma..

Very uninformed just like he was in his first video. He has no awareness of the LE dash or wheels and things the only differentiator is the badge. He also doesn’t understand that you have the same ability to negotiate the launch edition price just like you do any dealer allocation. In fact, most have gotten a better price on their launch editions than the ones buying at the local dealers. This video was a waste of my time and i wouldn’t recommend anyone else waste their time watching some uninformed guy ramble on about something he didn’t do his research on.

Super bummed. Hurry in you can only order on April 4th, but wait, you guys are special, you can order on the 3rd! Oh, actual delivery? We’ll have to see. Maybe we can start making them in July since you picked one of the colors that we offered.

I love the specs, super stoked to own one and pass down the 2012 wrangler to my daughter but the up front hype really made me feel like this was sooner than 90 days before they would even start to make it. I mean the pre-spec nature did make me feel like maybe they would have gotten a head start? Why the hype on the early ordering?

The problem with the anticipation is that I am actually thinking about how i would tackle some of the projects i have differently with the pickup versus dragging the trailer around and am really quite ready for it!

OK, venting complete for now, steam will build over the next few weeks of official silence and likely need to be vented again...

He may have a different perspective than you but I would not say he is uninformed, he makes a lot of quite valid points, again it's somewhat opinion but none the less valid. I have to agree with him, the launch addition has a special badge but the dash, well that's just like in my Sahara, the wheels, well a lot of people change those pretty soon after they buy the Jeep. This of course is his opinion and in my opinion he is pretty much spot on.

for once ole Fivers isn't creating a problem! Here's my take

(1) y'all got only a limited time FWP
(2) day one you stop at a light next to any JT and you win.
(3) day forty one hundred and ninety (until inifnity) you pull up next to any JT you win.
(4) put your plywood sunglasses on and be coo! You are the champions, my friends.
(5) sell me your best up LE in a couple years 40K OTD lol
(6) Plywood Broherhood.

Love that post! Good punt! That kid kinda bothers me, definitely loves his dog but he makes me twitch! I wish I didn’t watch it. The purple lambo is worthless but at least he does own a Jeep.

I don't want to call anyone out - not my style. But that leading image for the video is a little distasteful - and then the topic... just feels like baby johnny crying to daddy about not getting what he wants. Didn't even watch the video, so I'm totally judging.

Yeah I don’t think the wheels were a big selling factor for the LE, however the dash was. And in my case was more important than the badge. Many used the LE as an opportunity to get away from the red rubicon dash. I’m sure you are aware that there is an 11 page thread in the JL forum regarding just that. And it has come up in this forum time and time again. So I wouldn’t assume the leather wrapped dash is not important to the people who purchased the LE.
