Traded my Gladiator!!

It was a tough decision as I still liked the Jeep a lot and we made some good family memories in it during the short (almost) 2 years we've owned it. Had a lot of personality, would go anywhere, and I never had any problems with it. It was our trusty and scrappy companion through several fishing, camping, off-roading, and road trips.

The only drawbacks were all related to size and power. Even with our small family of 3+2 dogs, it could be tight on trips where you have a lot of gear and luggage. I also almost always wished for more power. It was certainly adequate enough when empty, but with a full cab, and bed (sometimes a pop up camper as well in tow), it's of course a different story.

Those things combined with the crazy trade in values right now, made it the right time to move to the next vehicle. So, I traded for a '21 F150 Powerboost hybrid good for 430hp. It's a beast, and I'm loving it so far.

Thanks to all of you guys for the advice and interaction over the years. The Jeep community is awesome. All the best with your trucks guys!

Congrats on the F150 Powerboost. I'll be very curious to see how you like it longer term and how the fuel economy is in real world conditions.

Thanks! I've put only about 300 miles on it so far, but it seems to do pretty well. On back roads and city drives, 23 mpg is pretty easy to achieve. Haven't done much highway yet. Rating is 24/24/24. But the biggest thing I like so far is the power and the extra space. Amazing something so big can be so fast.

I was close to buying a Ford just couldn’t do it. I didn’t want a mall crawler

Now you got power for when the grid goes down too?
That's right, it does have the "Power on Board" generator. Haven't tried that yet, but it'll come in handy if there's a power outage or just for camping.

I've been driving a 21' F150 with the 5.0 while my JT is being repaired (accident) .... I've been impressed with the power and fuel economy (18.5 in town and 23.6 Hwy). The F150 is really comfortable and spacious. WE were able to put down a 1500 mile road trip and had no complaints. The only thing I really don't like is the 10spd transmission ... it's not as refined as I would expect it to be and seems confused as to what gear it wants to be in.

Lol. I get that. I've actually owned several Fords, but don't really have much brand loyalty anymore. These days I'm open to buying from almost any auto manufacturer that makes something I like.

I owned a '17 Charger 392 that I loved, so the Jeep was only my 2nd FCA product, But I've owned many Fords over the years. First car was a Mustang, owned a total of 4 of those, a bronco, an Explorer, and an F150. So, I'm no stranger to the brand and most of my experiences have been positive. Have also owned a Mazda, and even a Buick.

They're definitely spacious. I was actually considering the 5.0 as I knew it was a proven platform with good performance, not to mention it's a little cheaper than the 3.5 or Powerboost.

Very cool, I had a lead foot XLT Powerboost on order and cancelled for the JT Willys diesel. That Powerboost is an amazing machine, sounds like you make a great choice and I’m glad the new Tundra is following along with the 22 model getting an optional twin turn 6 hybrid as well with pretty incredible power ratings.

5Star is working on a tune for it. Stock it hits 60 in 4.6-ish. No doubt when 5Star is done, it will hit high 3s. Insanely quick truck.

Funny how some people just have to make shitty comments any time someone else is happy, or at least try to take the wind from their sails....

I say Congrats on your new ride- I'm also intrigued by them and have jumped back and forth from F-150s to Jeeps for years. Hope you enjoy it!

If there was a factory JT with something similar to Powerboost and "Power on Board" I would be all over that! Enjoy the new truck!!!
