Did you buy your JT because of the bed or for towing???

That’s my take. And this size is perfect for me. I always wanted a Wrangler Unlimited, but need a truck bed several times a year. When I saw the camouflaged Gladiator being test driven early on in it’s development cycle, it started a little bit of a vehicle obsession that culminated in me being able to get one a couple months ago. I still look at it and smile.

After my purchased-new 2008 Chevy 3500HD crew dually 4x5 burnt to the ground (UGH UGH UGH!) in 2016, I replaced it with an immaculate black 2014 GMC 2500HD 4x4 crew Denali. VERY nice truck but I just didn't need the capability anymore (had sold the 11-1/2 ft. Lance slide in camper and later a 38 ft. fifth wheel).

Then prices were SO ridiculous I sold the Denali for the exact same price I paid 5 years before! So I got the 2020 Gladiator Rubicon with only 15,000 miles. It's also immaculate and very capable for all I need.

It tows my 22 ft wakeboard boat, functions just fine as a pickup, AND I'll use it as a toad behind my RV. Win-win-win!

Both the bed and towing. I’ve always had a truck and have a sickness for Jeeps. When they made the Gladiator, I thought it was way too much money, but I got it in Feb 2020 when they had serious deals and got $8k off. That made it a lot closer to the price of my 2017 Canyon All Terrain and I knew the difference in resale value would almost make it for it. Although it was still $10k more, purchase price vs purchase price, but I wanted it so yeah.

Towing, but I wanted a top-off capable Jeep. I would have gone with a wrangler if it could tow as much as I can with the JT. The bed is an added bonus though. I'm using it more than I thought I would.

Strickly for the bed. I needed a truck. But I also wanted a fun vehicle to go offroad. I would use the JT for light towing. But if my main purpose is heavy towing .... then a full size turbo diesel 3/4 or 1 ton truck would be my choice.

Coming from two previous JKU's... I got into the JT for the towing. We have an old ski boat + trailer that weighs about 3000lbs. Add in a couple people and gear it's over to the 3500lb limit of a JKU/JLU. I wanted the ability to legally tow it with the Jeep in the event our Yukon wasn't available for some reason.

I do like the bed for some things... but I'd switch back to a Wrangler again if they would bump up the towing to 5000lbs (like they are in Europe). I (and our dog) would much prefer having the climate controlled cargo space of an SUV and then just hitch up the utility trailer when I need to do "pickup bed" stuff.

Now if Jeep would come out with a Wrangler with a 3rd row seat and ~5000lb towing... I'd be first in line. (just not the ugly stadium seating/roof like that concept vehicle they just released.)

I am on this forum daily and I wanted to get a sense of what 'aspect' of the JT is most important to you. I am only giving you TWO choices to comment on, either the fact that it's a Jeep with a bed or because you plan to tow with it? You cannot comment on both, you must choose only one feature to keep.

Please save unrelated chatter for another thread. Personally, I wanted a "Wrangler with a bed' for the convenience of hauling 'stuff' as opposed to any towing capability. In the 15 months I've owned the JT, the bed has just made my life easier!

Bed, needed payload and every American should have a Jeep in the driveway (I've have 5 jeeps over the years, but right now the only Jeep in the driveway is my daughters(I purchased)). My future JT is for my retirement years...overlanding...after 27 years, 2 months 12 days and 5 combat/hostile fire zones in the uniformed military and an additional 16+ years as an Army civilian ensuring our technology in support of our troops meets their needs by working right the first time...everytime...to achieve desired affects on target!

My JT was purchased as a daily driver/light utility vehicle for typical family type stuff. I have been driving luxury/sports type cars and got tired of worrying about every pothole or where to park without some mouth breathing idiot dinging my 6 figure vehicle.

I could not possibly be happier with it.

Most important aspect for me other than it's a Jeep with a bed and I've been wanting a Jeep Truck since the Comanche days....for towing our pop-up trailer which used be pulled by my 99 XJ which is no longer with us unfortunately.
Needed a new work horse and luckily Jeep gave us the Gladiator!

I bought ours for towing and for the bed. Plus, I needed a flat towable vehicle. I’ve always been a fan of 2 door Wranglers but got tired of needing a trailer to haul anything. I was hoping for a 2-door truck but finally realized they won’t likely ever release one so I broke down and bought my Gladiator. I almost got a diesel Ranger (no diesel Gladiators at the time) but my love for taking the doors off won out!

I bought it primarily for the bed. I’ll always need a bed for my hobbies and chores. Curren have a RLD canopy on it and it serves well protecting my hunting dog and gear.

I don’t expect to tow much, but is nice to have some limited capability.

To be honest, when I first saw the Gladiator, thought it was unsightly, but over time, it appealed to me more and more. That said, I came from a RAM but wanted something more nimble & the gladiator fit the bill, was more comfortable for me than the smaller PUs.
