Did you happen to notice a MPG decline before this happened?
I'm at almost 23K miles and this tank has been the worst on MPG since I've had the truck. Think I'm right at 19.7ish, when I usually get 23MPG. I have run 37's since 900 miles and have always been around the 23MPG mark.
There are two commonly available types of diesel fuel in the US. The winter blend would explain your lower MPG vs the efficiency blend.

Yessir, fully aware of that, but this has been the worst it has ever been. Other than that, truck runs fine. New air and fuel filter about 6K miles ago.

A CP4 pump failure will let the engine turn, on fact it will turn over and over anx over until you stop it..... it just won't start

Dealer said that they are going to look at it tomorrow finally. So hopefully they are able to diagnose the issue and get the parts on order.
Any word back from the dealer?

They still haven't looked at it... On Saturday, they said that it was assigned to a tech but probably wouldn't get to it until the beginning of the week. Left a message for the service manager hoping to get an update today.

No loaner, but was able to get rental reimbursement through Jeep Wave.

Finally got a call from the dealer service and that they finally pushed my gladiator inside and are starting to look at it. The service manager said hopefully he will have an update tomorrow... we'll see. I opened a case up with Jeep Cares/Wave and they are going to follow up with the dealer tomorrow as well to see what needs to be done.

If you don't mind keeping a ear on their explanation if it is the cp4. Especially since yours wasn't listed in the recall. Still doesn't show in the app? A few of us are in this boat and curious to see how they handle this. My bet is they are staging the recall.

Definitely will keep everyone updated on this. And yeah, my vin doesn't show up in the CP4 recall and no recalls show up on the app.

Apparently, Jeep Cares tried to contact to the dealer today and even they weren't able to get ahold of anyone at the dealer.... The service manager told me he should have an update by today but haven't gotten a call yet and they close in an hour. So we will see.

Welp, got the call from the dealer and they confirmed that the fuel pump did fail. It does sound like some metal also made its way through the system but should have more information on how bad tomorrow. I asked about the recall for the CP4 pump and the service manager said that if my vin doesn't show up in the recall, he doesn't know if they can label it under the recall.... but it should still be covered under the warranty he said.

Wow. @Rusty PW does this answer our question ;). Sorry to hear that's the case and hopefully they expedite your repair or extend the rental. Curious what their move is...

From the symptoms you are describing, it would not be too far fetched to believe that your CP4 did go out. Sorry your truck is currently down.

I'm curious, did you ever run any sort of fuel additive like hot shots?
I did run it a couple of times, but unfortunately i haven't been as constant with it.
Looks like another cp4 failure without fuel additives to improve lubricity. I don't think I've seen anyone claim a cp4 failure while using a lubricity additive (like Hotshots EDT or the standalone LX4).

I've personally been using EDT since seeing the chance for fuel pump failure (which for me was already 22k miles). I'm now at 36k miles and still using EDT every tank and now even debating on moving to straight LX4 lubricity extreme or I can just double the EDT to 2oz per tank. Still "cheap" insurance until Bosch figures out a solution for a pump that works with ultra low sulfur diesel!

I've been doing 1.5 Oz EDT and .5 Oz LX4 per tank. Will continue for the life of the truck.

I think I'll be adding in LX4 to the EDT and do 1oz of each.

I just ordered both EDT and LX4 from Amazon cheaper than I can find it at any of the big box local auto supply stores (Autozone, O'Reilly, Advance, etc) which are often out of stock on EDT and don't carry LX4 in the squeeze bottle.
