Iam close to purchasing tires from discount tire and am not sure what to do about tpms sensors. Discount sells "alligator" tpms sensors which are on their website for $62/each. I can get factory sensors for around $33/each. Iam not sure how much they will charge me to install the sensors.

The sensors on my wheels are from my older 2020 jt that Ive since put on my 2021 jt. They are incompatible as my 2021 uses a different sensor. I decided to wait until I needed new tires to get the correct sensors installed.

Anyone have any thoughts on which tpms sensors to go with?

I have been to many Discount Tire shops around the country. I have had them replace my sensors with either OEM sensors or the same brand as OEM. They have never charged me to install a sensor that they are going to pull out any how. Some styles I had snap in and break easily so I was ready with new ones when I had them replace my tires. The price they quoted you is about the same price for OEM sensors(their price). You can certainly purchase a set of OEM sensors online and save some money. But like mentioned earlier, if they break one, or it is defective you may be on your own to replace. I don’t think you would have an issue, they are good at what they do. My Discount Tire replaced a defective sensor on my Grand Cherokee with an OEM sensor that I provided. They had installed the tires about 1 year prior. They wanted to thank me for stopping by and offered to rotate the wheels while I was there. I declined the rotation and I wouldn't leave until I paid for them breaking the bead.

I’ve had discount tire replace tire sensors on my 2500 HD. And if I remember right, they were $60 apiece.
They also said the lifespan of them should be 7-8 years with OEM‘s being 10 to 12.
There was no charge for installation.

Since you are buying new tires from them, get the sensors from them. If there are any TPMS issues, they will be responsible for fixing it.
Yea that' might be worth it to pay an extra $120 over the OEM that I source online.

I prefer OEM sensors. I would say just call or drop in your local Discount Tire and ask them what the cost if for them to put your supplied sensors in at time of tire replacement?

Could also just do it yourself with the hitch/frame and scissor jack method of breaking the bead. I have done that before.

I have an original sensor that has gone bad. Anyone know what they would charge for installation of a replacement? Or, if you pay the $60, will the installation be free? Again, I am not purchasing tires, although they did mount this current set, which I purchased elsewhere.
