Does anyone actually like the Sport (non-S) wheels?

Recent first time Gladiator owner (kinda first time Jeep owner unless you count brief 1976 CJ-5 ownership) with the purchase of a new 2023 Sport. It's entirely base model except for the max tow package. When I purchased about six weeks ago, I figured the black steel wheels would be first to go...however they've grown on me. They have a certain utilitarian kinda charm. Anyone actually like them, vs just tolerate them until replacing?

If I did a huge amount of off-roading I think I would prefer them as they are more durable (as has been stated) and also a lot easier and cheaper to repair or replace.

I think you got the best of both worlds. If I was to go for a base Sport, it would have to have the Max Tow option and would rock those steelies for all they are worth until I went to a tire size that makes me ditch them.

I bought my JT because of the Max Tow. I didn't like the base model steelies at first but am finding I don't mind them.
I do want a second set of wheels as I prefer two sets of wheels/tires for my trucks.

They will be factory wheels, for the offset, how ever I don't know yet if they'll be 17's or 18's.
If I stick with 17's it would certainly save some money to buy take off steelies.

I am not a big fan of those. I expect in my environment they would rust quickly. I bought the upgrade with my sport S and like them just fine.

I tried to order the black wheels with my Sport S Max Tow...but Jeep wouldn't let me because I ordered the cold weather package...for reasons?!

I do like them. At least, I like them WAAAAAAAY better then the uber-bland, soulless Sport S wheels. I have a Mojave, but my second choice would have been a Sport (non-S) Max Tow. Great choice!

Thank you Sir and I'm loving it so far. I would have liked a Mojave (or Rubicon which is more suited to local terrain) however the Sport fell into budget and the color I wanted showed up. It's a garage queen anyway - we're running out of the trails I grew up on in South Florida, and it will be in garage outside of Saturday / Sunday evening cruising and light trail work (all we have left).

I know its an old tread but i could not help myself lol I Love them, They are rugged and very good looking. The black steel ones was one of the big factors on why i picked the max tow base sport when i traded in my overland diesel. Tactik 5 spoke classic steel wheel is next option should i decide get bigger and wider tires.
