I've been using my ARB for 6 years of traveling on the road and shows including Sema. Still performs flawlessly!

ARB is know to be a very good cooler. I just really like the dual zone capability of the Dometic. The 95L is probably too big. If I had it to do over again I'd probably go with the 75L dual zone. But I have it and I plan to keep it now.

Hmm, I have been thinking of getting a electric cooler to put in the bed on road trips. I have Mopar Hard Tonneau cover so would have to fit under that. Able to be powered off outlet in bed. It will only be used occasional so I can't see spending the $$$ Dometic or Arb. Hopefully can find a more budget solution.

The Dometic I got on sale I posted earlier is working great - terrific model and fits well in the bed with cover on.

Interesting but @17.5 height its a tad too tall :(
Not sure if that measurement includes the feet or not if it does I can lose or mod those and probably get it flush. I don't have a tonneau cover so not really an issue. I may at some point get one but will figure that out when the time comes.

Note: Most of the folding security covers are flush to the top of the bed, so, you lose another 1/2 inch of head space. That fridge will work with the stock soft Tonneau cover if it fits between the metal rods, otherwise, it might stick up a little, but, it will still work. That fridge will be too tall with any hard cover that is flush to the top of the bed.

Yeah, I have the hard cover. Just measured and it would definitely be too tall.

I decided to take another one for the team. I ordered one of the Alpicool 15L coolers from Amazon to test it out. The Dometic is awesome it just too big for everyday use. Can’t try it out for a few days though Sind the Amazon delivery “genius” layer it upside down on the side of the road! I really did find my cooler upside down sitting next to my mailbox at the end of the driveway! It has been upside down a lot since the shipping label was on the bottom of the box. Im going to give it at least a couple days before I try to turn it on. I can tell right off the bat that it isn’t anywhere near the quality of the Dometic. It feels like to lis is hollow and uninsulated.

Well the AlpiCool was forced into service before I really wanted to. Last night we were one of the 130,000 fortunate people to lose power in the Nashville area. It cooled down quickly and has done a great job so far of keeping the contents cool. All day today the Walmart lead acid battery in the trolling motor box powered both the AlpiCool and the Dometic. It was hot today and after about 10 hours I was down to 12.2V so I was almost dead. I shut down the generators to fill with gas and check the oil and the power came back on. The Champion generators were paralleled and ran the freezer and two refrigerators and one Generac ran a 5000BTU window unit and my CPAP. Still not into camping at home but enough toys does make it better.

So I ordered a Dometic 9600001411 CFX-75DZW Dual Zone Portable Fridge/Freezer from Quadratec for my upcoming trip from Maryland to my new home base in Colorado. I get an email from Quadratec that states the following: "...reaching out to you because DMC informed us that that fridge that you ordered is no longer available. Its a discontinued item that they do not produce anymore..." WTF? Isn't that their latest dual zoned version? Tried calling Dometic directly...nope, having trouble with their phones supposedly and they don't answer (no really, that's the message I got on the phone!). Anyone have similar issues...do I need to go to Engel for a dual zone (like having both frig AND freezer)?

They have done an upgrade and now it is designated CFX3 75DZW. They are an awesome product you will love it. Just make sure you have plenty of space to carry your new piglet. I'll always have one now that I have had one, actually two. The little AlpiCool is also very nice for what it is. My Coke Zero is ice cold and my lunch stays fresh while I'm working.
