Darn, I wasn't able to take pictures with the door panel off. It was easy to remove the outer panel. I disconnected the cables and harness to take the panel off completely. Then, I removed all of the 10mm hex bolts on the inner panel. That allowed me to be able to reach in a little bit from the bottom opening. I let the old part drop into the door, then I used a long screw driver to push the old part back far enough for me to grab it with my fingers. To get the new one in, I used a fish tape (zip tied the door check bolt hole to end of fish tape) to pull it from the opening. Hope my description makes sense. Let me know if you have questions. Took about 30 minutes.

Looks like the 2 white plastic rollers are the weak point . They seem to be of inferior grade . I believe these could be easily 3D printed or made out of metal and then the rivets replaced with small bolts.

I didn't have to replace any clips (lucky). The outer panel has 5 screws you have to remove before popping off the panel: 1 hidden behind the door latch, 2 under the armrest, and 2 at the bottom (under the net map pocket). The only trim tool I needed was for the cover behind the door latch. I just wedged my fingers into the door panels and jerked the panel off a section at a time.

Here’s a quick video. It gives you a general idea how simple it is. You DONT have to take the door off like this guy did. I never broke any clips when I removed my panels.

Awesome. Thanks very much. I’ll be doing this when it comes back from the body shop. Who knows when that will be. It goes in on Monday.

Ok I think I found a fix, just need someone else to verify it. This is a very easy and simple fix for now using electrical tape. I found that the outer door frame next to the door check is flexing/rubbing the interior door frame. You can test by pulling out on the corner of the door frame to see if it stops. I just forced some folded tape between the seam on the corner and it work.

I have a Wrangler and it took me a long time to find a solution that worked but this did the trick, at least for now. Thank you!
