So about a week ago (36,600 miles) my 21 Rubicon Diesel with passive entry started locking itself while the doors are open and keys are in my pocket. The doors have never been off and I just changed the battery on both fobs. I'm really annoyed because this thing just got out of warranty and sat at the dealership for a couple of months waiting for an new oiler cooler. Does anyone have any ideas before I take to the dealership?

Just throwing this out there, have you double checked the options on the Uconnect? If you had engine work done at the dealership, it is possible they disconnected the battery long enough for all of the settings to go away. I want to say there were autlock options in there, but it may have just been for the auto door locks when you drive past 15mph.

I'll check and report back. Thanks for the suggestion.

They aren't supposed to lock until closed or you are a certain distance away on vehicles that have that fancy feature of locking as you walk away - at least from what I've seen.

Autolock in our radios is for when you go over xx mph.

There are other settings in the BCM, but likely because the same "programming" is used in Viper and other vehicles. There's actually stuff like that in there.

I have a buddy who drives a Honda with that feature, pretty cool. I kind of wish that at the $60k price point you we got that when opting for the proximity.

It's really frustrating. When I am clicking a little one into a carseat with rear door open the locks are going nuts. Sometimes they will lock 3 times while doing one carseat buckle.

I'll throw this out there too.. where is the fob when you're buckling them in?

My SO once kept telling me my last truck would turn off on her. She swore up and down that every time she drove it that it would randomly turn off. I would immediately jump in and drive it like I stole it and it would never turn off... until months later I couldn't find my keys and took hers...

She had one of these stupid things, within 30 seconds I too moved my leg and by bumping it, turned off my truck.

I keep my key in my pocket. I haven't had any issues until this last week.

I've easily accidentally bumped the fob in my pocket and caused doors to lock, unlock, and even set off the alarm.

You might also see about trying the other fob for a while to see if there's any difference, and make sure the fob battery is in good shape.

Does it do it in other locations, or only at your house?

Disconnect one door connector at a time to see if the issue persist.

Both non Jeep vehicles with same problem. One was a faulty door switch (plunger). Other was a spill that shorted the lock button on the door. The plunger situation was only figured out because the interior light would trigger when I hit a bump. You can disconnect each door in order to see if the problem lies in one door and not the remotes.

Other consideration might be a new phone charger or accessory that is causing interference.

This happens at multiple locations. I'll try to disconnect one door as well.

If you have kids, may sure they aren't messing with you. My 9yr old son did something similar to me once.
