I took my doors off for the first time and noticed I get a warning upon start up that my collision avoidance isn't working. I didn't see or notice it until the 3rd or 4th start. Is this normal when the doors are off or should I be concerned?

The blind spot radar is in the rear view mirrors. When you take the doors off, you unplug it. Nope, I was confused. it's in the tail lights. It's just the warning light that's on the rear view mirrors.

I had a funny feeling that was going to be the answer but I didn't recall noticing a sensor on them. Thanks for the info!

The Blind Spot sensors are in the taillights. The FCW radar and camera are in the box behind the rear view mirror.

I would check with the dealer. Having the doors off should not stop the FCW from working.

The yellow notification lights are in the side door mirrors.

The cross traffic alert are in the tail lights.

Ya’ll sure the blind spot detection is actually in the tail lights?

Okay, so, did some googling. Appears it is in the rear bumper/taillight area. It will trigger audible alert and then yellow warning lights.

probably triggers the warning/system off since the warning lights can’t light up?

Yeah, I double checked in the manual -- it's only the warning light. Seems strange disconnecting the warning light would the radar stuff off: you could still get the audible warning.

The sensors for traffic behind the vehicle are in the rear bumper. It has an audible warning and displays on the small screen.

The sensors for traffic beside the vehicle are in the taillight housing. It has an audible warning and visual indicators in the side view mirrors.

The sensors for traffic in front of the vehicle are in the box behind the rearview mirror. It has an audible warning and displays on the small screen.

There is no reason any of those systems should stop working because the doors are off. I don't remember any previous posts reporting that the systems have stopped working due to the doors being removed.

I think you might be right. I'll take a picture of the warning and test it out tomorrow and see if I still get an audible warning.

I get a notice on the center screen when I start mine with doors off that says blind spot detection disabled. I've only ever seen blindspot detection light up the icon on the mirror (no audible warning, nothing in the center screen). Given that I didn't think anything of the message since I'd just taken off the truck the only way it could notify me of something in my blind spot.

You can select whether or not there is an audible warning in the settings in the Uconnect.

Can’t answer for collision avoidance, but my blind spot doesn’t function with doors off either. This is normal. No doors. No mirrors. It knows. Once you unplug the door harness it can’t work. It’s says it is disabled on center dash message system.

Back up sensor warning works fine with doors off.

Hereā€˜s an added bonus of doors off. No auto on/off either.

Second added bonus. With doors off, do not get out of seat If pulling forward. Auto brake will engage. Sensor in seat must think you have fallen out.
