Doors off, how do you secure your Jeep?

my firearm is the only thing i secure when im doorless, but i try to keep it on me, but thats not always the case. antyhing else that could go missing, i wont miss.

i lock my firearm behind the locked seat and i run a steel cable through the trigger as well. its a two fold system, but easily stolen by someone looking for it or able to pull the locked seat down. you can not access my firearm from the seat bottoms.

i leave all my audio equipment unbolted so my subs can be stolen easily if someone wanted my cheap skar garbage (its the whole reason i went skar, its cheap).

my jku had a lockbox under the driver seat, i plan on doing that for my JT eventually. a hard tonneou cover would be even better but those are so expensive for my cheap needs.

Ok, getting ready to take the doors off for the first time, wondering how you secure your Jeep with no doors.

Not sure where you live, but if you think someone may steal the whole Jeep, then I would get the engine immobilizer thing(s) others mention here. I have never used one but I guess they work.

Otherwise, as I do with my last three soft top/half door Jeeps ('94, '99, '16), I NEVER lock them. I did once on the '94 when I moved to Miami, and a month later the window was slashed and nothing was in it anyway. I learned. Will never do it again.

On my 4 door/half doors '16 Willys JKU, I generally park it under the carport since it rains so much here in South Florida during the year. But I generally leave it totally open, no windows, no side panels, during the "dry" season here in South Florida (Oct-Apr) unless I want to drive it when it is raining which I generally don't: I take my Gladiator instead. When I mention "dry" season, that means it only rains maybe one day a week instead of daily in the wet season ...lol.

At least here in Key Largo, I'm not really worried about anybody stealing them. And if someone wants to get in and open the glove compartment or console, they are welcome.

They are probably not smart enough to look under the storage area under the back seat so otherwise I don't really care.

May I ask why you would leave a firearm in a vehicle? Maybe it's just me, and I do carry my brothers with me at times (S&W), but never leave them in a vehicle. Am I overly cautious or something?

Unfortunately those of us that don't live in the Free State of Florida have myriad gun laws that can be confusing at best, byzantine at worst. Here in the DPRMD, I can't carry in a state park but can in a state forest, up until recently could not carry into an establishment that served or sold alcohol, can't if the business posts no firearms allowed, etc.

I don't like leaving Mr Sauer in the car either but have a Console Safe in the JT, and StopBoxes in the BMW and Bronclette with wire loops around the seat posts when I must.

certain areas won’t allow firearms. Say a concert venue or a federal park. A courthouse/federal building. I am not legally permitted to carry in those areas and I’m in a state that does not require a concealed permit regardless.

dont get me wrong, I ignore signs in certain areas, but certain scenarios have arisen where I didn’t think through my evening. We were out in the jeep doorless and I couldn’t carry inside the venue. Just dumb shit like that.

lock the glove box, console, and rear seat. Don't leave anything of value in the cab. That's really all you can do.

Doors off you're really only attracting the "Stash and Grab" folks. Anyone talking about key/fob spoofing, breaking into center consoles, ect... are going to get in your jeep whether you have the doors on or not if they want to. Give someone enough time and nothing is fool proof.

Ever since they started selling a 4” 10K RPM battery powered grinder with a diamond wheel cut off blade, nothing Is safe.
