Doors-off mirrors?

I'm looking at getting some doors off mirrors. The OEM ones seem VERY expensive. Do they retain all the safety features that the doors on mirrors do? I'm not sure how they'd stay connected. Otherwise, I don't see the point in paying that price.

Joytutus has some really slick-looking options, one that mounts outside and another that mounts to the A-pillar.

I was going to say Jpeggz but looks like they're out of business. OEM are just mirriors - no electronics.

The cheap Quadratec brand ones serve just fine for cruising around town at 45mph or so....which is about all I do with doors off.

I second CMM. Expensive but extremely well made. Easy on and off. Compact too. I keep them in one of my tool box drawers when not in use.

I purchased the CMM ones as well.
The OEM doors off mirror kit is nice but expensive. You can usually find them on Facebook marketplace though reasonable priced.

I have a set I’m looking to get rid of if you’re looking.

On my naked 1998 Sahara I used inexpensive
Harley Davidson Sportster mirrors
mounted in the hinge with
washers and nuts for spacers.

Don't know if they would work on a JT.
Have not taken my doors off yet.

Some people use scooter mirrors.

I enjoy telling it.
My frustration with mirrors
prompted me to contact Jeep world headquarters.
I suggested they make the hinge pin for the mirrors
the same size as the hinge pin for the doors
so the mirrors could be moved from the doors
to the body.
Jeep replied that they had engineers for that.
I countered with maybe the door engineers
should talk to the mirror engineers.

These from Quadratech work great. Under $60 for the pair. They go right in the door hinge hole. Get some nylon washers and tighten them up.

I've always wanted a good solid mirror, I want a good visual of who/what's beside me. On my 2011 Wrangler I used these, Die-Tech Mirror Bracket along with a couple of the older Jeep mirrors which are very common and inexpensive you can now order these with the newer JK style mirror too. Best of all they were not susceptible to the wind and nearly vibration free. I use the same style mirror but now they are attached to a set of tube doors.

I got some from bulletpoint mounting and they work pretty well. They were cheap compared to the CMM version, and seem to do the job
