Shop around on the spray-in. Don’t just go to LineX or whoever. Call your local utility, find out who their garage uses to upfit their service trucks, etc. Ask (non-Jeep) dealerships who they use.

My spray liner was $450 one year ago. I’ve hauled firewood, and all kinds of rough heavy stuff and it still looks like new.
Yeah all the places here were quoting silly high atm. Not sure what the deal is here, turning into LA Jr with all of the reject sports teams and all.

Raptorliner and spray it in yourself. $130 at Autozone. Has a nice textured finish look and will hold up to most of what you throw at it.

Get the shop to guarantee the thickness of the liner they will spray. Some places spray it thinner to save money. And, I agree with the above posts that spray-in liners, whether Line-X, Rhino, etc. are the way to go.

If you don’t mind some work you can prep it yourself and do a roll on. Herculiner is one brand I know of. It basically goes on with a small paint troller.

The only reason I went with a drop in, is that I plan on keeping this truck for a while, and I hit the bed with some very heavy impacts and loads. I had a spray in liner with a previous truck used the same way, and it didn't hold up. Once compromised, the frequent touch ups required, began to be a regular maintenance item, and the touch ups didn't hold up. I use my truck like a truck, firewood, bikes, scrap metal, stone, pavers and such.

Seems to be regional in some areas that ask and get stupid spray in bed liner pricing because they can get away with it.

Around me here in Northern Delaware, Line-X is like $600 and Rhino Liner is like $550. Closer you get to NYC and Long Island area, they want $300-$400 more.

Bad thing about bed liners applied with a paint roller is that they look like they have been applied with a paint roller.

Just about every rolled on bed liner job I have seen looks like ass. Maybe OK on a beater, but on a newish truck, no bueno.

I'm in the middle of shopping for a drop in bed liner, I don't want to drop $1,000 for a quality spray liner and I shouldn't be doing anything beyond what a quality drop in liner would handle... I just don't get why RealTruck has theirs listed for $279 and my local dealers want $380+ tax and the Mopar part seems to be out of stock locally, my dealers aren't able to order it, the one that does have it wants $100 over MSRP for it.

The ones available from the mopar dealers want $300 for shipping.

I might just end up biting the bullet and going with a spray in liner... thoughts, anyone?
I purchased a very well built liner for $200 at my local H&H offroad shop. That even included the rear tailgate piece.

To bad your not close, I never installed it. I decided to go with the spray in from Line-X. I thought I only payed around $600.

Maybe it's your area, but I would shop around.

Do yourself a favor though, if you decide to go with the spray in, make sure you put a bolt in all of the bolt holes.(I believe they are M6 or M8). If not, they will get sprayed and it's somewhat tedious to chase them out and clean the threads afterwards.

The factory spray liner doesn't compare to the aftermarket... so bad idea?

I’d highly recommend you put a rubber mat underneath the drop-in OR do the Paint-on Herculiner on the floor.

Those drop-in liners will rub against your paint and scratch it. You know where that can lead to…RUST.

Just pulled mine out after four years, no abrasions, no rust. Bubkus. It may depend on the style of the drop in. I washed the bed, rubbed in a heavy coat of unbuffed past wax, rinsed the bedliner and popped it back in. I think the wear and rust saga has become an old wive's tale.

None of your business.
Drop-ins are objectively better for actual work. They absorb impacts much better and after you pull them, the bed looks brand new. I’ve had them all. Currently I have a factory spray. If I used my bed for more that grocery’s and harry-homeowner duty, I’d find a drop-in like a responsible adult.

Drop a man sized log (by hand)in the bed, and then dance around like a clown because your spray-in communicated the force more directly and left a dent. Skip the diatribe about how a log dropped from a skid steer at 12 feet would dent through both.
