So that's where the Mopar air filter comes from ... you learn something new every day!
Edit: I guess I'm assuming that the dealership put a Mopar filter in it, but stranger things have happened.

Exactly. Batteries and other expensive easily removed parts - especially since these fit hundreds of thousands of jeeps........ my wife was telling of what her quilting friends who live in a town about an hour south of us were talking about - the thefts and what was being stolen and how - it wasn't vehicles, it was stuff, parts, pieces, gas and so on. It was just stupid. And the pranks being pulled out there - is this much different than the drunk peeing in a gas tank?I think it's because they are almost $70 MSRP and with the right tools you could pop one out in less than 30 seconds.

That's a cheaper aftermarket cabin air filter.......... PG PC99454 Cabin Air Filter
Or they don't change their minimum specs sent to the maker of that part - which isn't Jeep.Until it fails again and again. Need to pot the things. It's another defective part Jeep couldn't care less about redesigning.
I don't have enough downstream force to open up and keep open the safety cap on a modern gas tank. So I would not fare well with this prank. Getting old sux.And the pranks being pulled out there - is this much different than the drunk peeing in a gas tank?
Travel outside of the US........ you'd be amazed at what sells, especially in places where parts are nearly impossible to get.I always go to the swap meet to search for used air filters for my $60,000 truck
Don't forget brake pads. You can never have too many pads with 10-20% life left. They might come in handy some day. I mean, they never have for me, but they might. But good to know you won't be interested in my stash of used air filters............ maybe some used cabin filters? I've got some good used spark plugs here.
So you've seen inside my shop?Don't forget brake pads. You can never have too many pads with 10-20% life left. They might come in handy some day. I mean, they never have for me, but they might.
The PO was not really smart, then.Possibility that the PO had a K&N or something similar and pulled it prior to trade in??
