How are the solor panels wired to work together. Wondering how best to have ready for portable panels...like the plug in the grill
The positive wire from the hood solar and the positive wire from the front grill plug both terminate into the yellow wire of the Redarc. They are not technically wired together. The Redarc is doing the work of the solar controller to handle the input of both panels when the portable one is hooked up. The hood solar is basically always "on".

I can't give you an exact answer on cost as the shop in CO (Juniper Overland) does not sell the kit as DIY, they only perform installation in the shop. The Genesis kit appears to be $599 online and just the Redarc BCDC1225 appears to be $410 on Amazon (then you'd need all the bracketry)

Amazingly clean setup but....

Having a giant conductive aluminum plate mm away from my battery terminals is a nogo.

They should have made the bracket from delrin or something heat resistant non conductive.

I appreciate the counterpoint but Genesis is the same with a giant conductive steel plate... with way more metal "stuff" surrounding the terminals.

Maybe you can break onto the scene with something new?

I also said the same thing about the genesis.

Really clean set-up. WIth the removal of the auxiliary battery, did you lose the ESS functionality? I'm interested in a dual-battery system that still allows ESS to function normally. Thanks again!

Nope, ESS still works. Everything is maintained but without the failure prone OEM aux battery :)
