Well, I was shopping around, looking to replace my Edge Sport, and for something to winter drive because I don't want my Mustang to get destroyed, lol

I dont fit in Tacomas, Santa Cruz are too small, No full size trucks. My buddy got a Wrangler Rubicon 6 spd, and sold me on a Jeep, lol

Still Driving USA built, which is something I try to do. Jeep offering a 6spd manual really sold me, that and the headroom!

Okay!!! Potting was a bit interesting. Cure time was pretty loose. I let it cure a little over 24hr before installing. Going to be setting up another 12-14 hours before I drive it. I really hope it remains unconductive as it's curing. Thats a big variable that is probably fine. I checked the TDS and got all the specs on it, but doesnt mention conductivity while wet, lol

Breaking the rear alignment tab really had me like "WTF man... I didn't do anything wrong" It appears to be less necessary, well, pending my first drive, fingers crossed!

ARB diff covers are stellar!!! Fantastic pieces! Setting up the dipstick wasn't hard. I accidentally overfilled the front big time, had to drain, check, drain, check and I think it's spot on now though. Rear was very easy, front has issues with the track bar/steering and what not. Jacking up the drivers side frame, buys you all the clearance you need to install the cover, and mostly fill.

I torqued the diff cover bolts to 25 ft/lbs with Blue Loctite.

Rear sensor had some metal on it, I cleaned that all off.

I increased the weight in the rear to 75w140. Which is what people we saying the Max tow runs. A bit more protection seems like a good move.

So we take about 1.5 liters in the rear, a lil over 1 liter in the front. Not sure how much the ARB covers affected the fill, I just did their dipstick and didnt measure out anything, lmao. I may pay more attention on next fill.

Mileage is a little over 3000 miles.

Hopefully I get ome time to swap trans and transfer case fluid, do the lamin-x for the lights, ceramic coat the windshield, and install the new trico wipers I bought, mine seem to be under performing.
Hey brother, just curious as I dont know. What does "potting" the sensor mean?

Potting = Filling the sensor casing with epoxy to prevent oil and metal filings shorting out the circuit.

Started prepping for my Rugged Ridge Arcus. Got the Diode Dynamics SS3 Maxx in the Arcus fog brackets. Gotta say, the DD brackets and lights are top notch. Fit and finish is superb. The Arcus bumper is pretty rough, as everyone says, lmfao. Great ideas, poorly executed, well, poorly made. Value is there though from RR. I knew exactly what I was getting into.

I painted the spacers I scored from here. Bought ARP bolts, longer than the RR torx socket cap bolts.

Well, i figured I'd do this over 2 days.

This was todays progress.

Bumper installed with 3/8" spacer.

Diode Dynamics SS3 fogs are mounted. Needs to get wired and adjusted. Adjustment while in the bumper looks difficult. I have a couple of tricks/tools that may do it.

Winch mounted. Wiring modified. Needs power to get sorted.

I installed some ppf on the lower section of the grill, which the winch touches. Works out great.

Should have it all sorted tomorrow.

Well. First off, Flipping the Jeeps hood up to the windshield has to be one of my favorite features. Really made wiring this all up a whole lot easier. Secondly, Jeep really knows who buys these things. Theres like 16 ground stud locations in the engine bay area with nuts on them. Super thoughful for all the BS we slap on them!

The ARP bolts were 70mm, and to be honest, a bit on the long side which has me concerned about threads until I bottom out on the shoulder of the bolt. A 60mm Bolt would have been perfect, and is actually the size RR sends out. It will accommodate a 3/8" spacer no problem. Ugh, I'll keep an eye on it when I start winching. Replace them with shorter is necessary.

I ran the positive lead by the radiator end cap, and went up around the headlight. The 2/0 Cable is too big to allow airbox install when I ran it low with the OEM harness in that area. SO I ran on top the intake mounting tab. I don't love it, but I already source some parts to allow me to secure the wire separately from the intake tab, and allow room for intake removal.

I was not prepared with proper solenoid terminal covers, so I hacked up the red and yellow covers supplied with the Harbor Freight Badlands Apex winch. They work for now, but Im researching something better/safer. I almost split some silicon tubing and ran it on top the cable with a little tie wrap action to overhang the terminals, lmfao!!

Connect the solenoid to aux 4, so I have power isolation for the winch. I drilled and tapped the frame for grounding the winch. I used a 3m abrasive wheel in my trusty milwaukee angle die grinder, to remove the paint in that area for proper contact patch. Re-used one of the seat mounting bolts I removed with the Seat Jackers install. It was perfect for this application.

The weird copper paste you keep seeing is Burndy Penetrox E, a copper paste type antioxidant electrical joint compound. It's conductive and works great. I put some on everything. A little bit in all the crimps too, work it around good. I use marine style heat shrink with the interior adhesive in it. Really glue everything shut. The 5/16" single hole closed ended lugs, got crimped in two spots each, and if I had to bend them, I used a 8mm deep 1/4 drive socket to insert into the barrel, then an adjustable wrench to hold the flat. Worked fantastic to get all the weird angles I needed. I'm pretty sure there is only two lugs I was able to install without having to bend them. I should have borrowed an electric crimper from work, the manual one I was using got real old after the 5th crimp.

For mounting the fuse, and battery isolator/solenoid, I had bought some .093" Kydex. It's super easy to work with, and figured it would hold me over until I come up with something more permanent. I heat gunned it, bent it into a 90 degree angle full length. I bolted the solenoid to a smaller piece, then that piece bolted to the angled main piece. I used 1/4-20 Stainless hardware. The reason I went two piece for the solenoid, was so I could drop it further into the nook between the battery and passenger side frame. I kept closing the hood slowly to check for clearance. Eveything had plenty of room, another Jeep design I really appreciate. Weirdest thing I had to do, was make the smallest crimp jumper from the load side of the fuse holder to the line side of the solenoid. Rotating 90 degrees and elevation change in such a short distance made it a bit of a challenge. I bent up both lugs, eventually crimped up one end on a long piece of cable, the cut it to size, stripped the insulation back, and crimped the other end. Theres like a 3/8" gap between the ends of the crimps. It's tight but worked.

Im probably going to do another video on just the wiring. Writing this all out is taking quite a bit, when It would be much easier just to show it and narrate.

I bought the Teraflex 1.5" leveling kit, and Amazon failed to delivery it. Says its here, its not. Same Amazon BS, letting me down.

So who knows when I'll get it. Wtf. I was planning on doing it this weekend. Ugh

No i didnt get the slammers, I am considering it though. My head still touches. Ugh
I'm not having the sound bar hitting issue, I am fighting resting my right knee on the 4x4 shifter. Did the seat lift kits help with that at all?

Well, its going to raise your legs at the knee, so it should prevent that. You could probably put a rolled up towel or something under your leg by the edge of the seat to simulate the lift, they move around and see.
