I‘m not sure if this will work on whatever is on there but, it does a great job of bringing back the black on faded plastic fenders and trim.

Keep in mind, your top is NOT color embedded plastic. The black is a PAINTED surface.

I am under the impression the top is made of fiberglass. I haven't cut or drilled into it to confirm that. It does have a plastic texture to it.

Eager to hear about your results from the suggestions. I think it needs a coat of black paint myself. I hope I'm wrong.

Ive read that back to black runs off when it rains. Never used it so can’t verify, but the claim made me not use it. Fyi.
Like I said. If you leave it out over night. It will run, because of the night dew. And rain too.

I've seen people apply a heat gun to bumpers to restore the finish. . . wonder if that'll work for our hardtops for spot repairs?

Thanks everyone. Made me feel better about my situation. I work overnights so when I’m off my shift tomorrow going to put it in garage so it’s not hot and try the least invasive first (dawn dish soap), I have some 303 protectant too. Not familiar with back to black. For shits and giggles I’ll contact the dealer, maybe they can help in some way. And par for the course my better half noticed,”WTF, you just bought it…” not bad enough that there’s brown boxes accumulating in the garage from various aftermarket online retailers. I’ll post results in case someone needs to learn from my mistake. Thanks again for everyone’s time and input. Much appreciated.

Dawn should strip any wax etc. good call ??

When you call the dealer- maybe try and ask specifically what their detailer/car washer group has in an aerosol can…. Might help with what to use to remove it.

What ever you do to fix, please take into account that the hardtop is fiberglass. I am not sure if it is painted or tinted gel coat, but it is not plastic.

Hey hey, need some direction so I come to the best. Picked mine up, drove home, parked, turned back to admire and then my heart sank. After a few minutes of m’fing whoever detailed it I just began m’fing myself for being a dope with stars in his eyes. Don’t know how the hell I missed it. I left the lot so it’s my fault/problem plus I got it from out of state so no going back. Before I do anything to remedy it I’m looking to see if anyone had dealt with something like this. I’m hoping it’s not like when wax gets on the plastic door handles and ruins it. Any and all help would be appreciated. (Washed it and it’s still clear as day). Thanks in advance. Sincerely,
Dummy me

Yeah fuck that. Be like sending them a picture and asking WTF!?!?! :swear: ?
Edit: I found a small cut on my center console after I got home and texted the sales guy with a picture. Said we'll take care of it. Yeah it was out of state purchase too. Sent me a new one. Good luck.
I’m certain they would take care of the bill for getting it fixed. Pictures and communication.
