I don't blame you. I've been driving GM trucks my whole life. But my 2021 GMC truck had chunks of (summit white) paint falling off it after just 8 months. I took it back to the dealership and they denied the warranty claim, said it was "environmental factors." So I no longer own that truck, and I'll never buy a new GM truck again. I'll still buy older ones cause I just love em. I will either pay for repairs on a vehicle I own outright, or I'll have a payment on a newer vehicle that doesn't' need expensive repairs. I won't do both.

Sucks your dealing with a total shit show, especially with a vehicle you actually like and enjoy. I'm sure at this point you've thought of every course of action you can take. But have you tried another dealer?
The dealership has never been hard to deal with, they’ve fixed everything and have done it quickly for the most part. It’s FCA Warranty that’s denying the claim not the dealership. I have taken it to 2 other dealerships one flat out refused to work on my truck because “its too heavily modified” and the other just did a terrible job on the repair, they even damaged the paint and scuffed up my wheels while it was there, they never accepted responsibility so I never went back to that one.

Fair warning this is a rant/venting session…

Sorry to say I’m done with Jeep/Mopar/FCA…

Day one off the lot I I drove off and 20 miles into my trip back home the visor broke, from then on it’s been a love hate relationship with this truck. I love it more than any other vehicle I’ve owned and I’ve had over 20 but after this latest trip to the dealer I’m officially done.

At 500 miles on the odometer I hear a tick, not bad, take it to the dealer a bunch of times until a tick became a loud knock. FCA approved an engine replacement this took about 6 months from start to finish, truck was in the shop months not being worked on until they finally replaced the engine. All is well until it starts to leak coolant 1 week after I got it back so back to the dealer for another 2 weeks. They fixed that issue and the truck was great for a while…

Over the course of 4 years I’ve had an engine replaced, the transfer case replaced, the transmission replaced, the rear axle shaft replaced, the batteries replaced 2 times, I’ve had the alternator replaced, grounding issues, visors replaced and they took months to get, I had oil leaks multiple times. The latest issue was a torque converter replaced, after it was replaced I had to bring it back because there were some bolts that needed to be replaced…the techs were unaware that apparently the bolts were a one time use thing and the started rattle. This are just the big issues I’ve gone in for various other things over the years.

Fast forward to mid December, I get a check engine light, the red lighting bolt flash, the auto start stop lights and the TPMS as well. Dealer can’t see my truck until Jan 2…I bring it in and apparently the truck was overheating and caused the overheat tags to turn red and warp the cylinders…and now FCA, not the dealership is saying the are probably not going to cover the engine due to it overheating.

I have never taken this truck off road, it sits in my garage 90% of the time, I’ve never towed anything, it’s in perfect condition. It looks like it just came off the lot, to be honest it looks newer than a lot of the new JTs on the dealers lot. It’s never even been in the rain, it’s been babied so much. Oh and I forgot to mention I only have 29,000 miles on it!!! This engine actually only has 25,000 miles on it. It’s been a week in the shop with nothing being done to it while they wait for an approved or denial…

So after this is finally settled one way or the other I’m done.

Ill post updates as I get them…

I feel your pain. But by the looks of your build sheet there isn't much left of the JT that is stock. I think most expect that they can do anything they want to the JT and the warranty will cover anything going wrong, to some extent. Nope, not anymore. Jeep uses any opportunity they can find to deny a warranty claim. There are still dealers out there that try to work with a customer on issues, but they are getting less in number as time goes on. But I think the bigger issue here is one of competent technicians sometimes. My son has a MB dealership and they struggle to keep qualified trained and skilled techs employed. MB will not honor a warranty claim unless the dealership used a certified and trained MB tech to fix it. This is an industry wide problem today and I don't see it getting better in the short term. There are relatively few real mechanics working for dealerships today it seems. Unless it is a catastrophic failure, I just prefer to fix my Jeeps myself and suck up the cost as part of doing business today. I don't like it but I don't like a lot of things going on today. Conventional powered Jeeps are still pretty owner friendly to work on as well, unlike some other brands of vehicles. I'm lucky as I have a great shop that specializes in off-road and four-wheel drive vehicles if I need them. They have done at least three regearing jobs for me as well as countless other repairs and their work is top notch, but these shops are increasingly hard to find today it seems. They don't employ technicians; they employ auto mechanics. Your list of mods seems consistent with what I would say are common user installed mods so I assume you are a highly experienced Jeep owner. I get how ticked off you are. Been there, done that too many times to count. But this is the world we live in today, I guess. I have a 2023 JTR and it will be the last new Jeep I buy. They are simply too expensive and unreliable today in my view, but full disclosure, I have had very good luck with my current vehicle so far overall. I just don't take it to a dealer when something needs fixing, I do it myself or take it to my trusted garage for the work. Good luck to you. Hope your Jeep experience improves in 2025.

Amazing how some specific vehicles can just be "snake-bit." I had a similar experience with a German car . . . driving home the day I bought it the AC went out. Little thinks went out like temp sensors, horn, etc. Oil consumption got so bad they finally gave in and gave me a new engine. Finally bailed when both radiators started leaking. Supposedly a great brand, but just bad luck on my part.

Sad. My dealership never had a problem with warranty claims from FCA. The dealership has also taken care of me by contacting my third party warranty and taking care of any issues that came up.

I have great empathy for your experience with Jeep. I have written off 2 brands in the past because warranty work wasn't covered and the same issue kept repeating even after multiple replacement. What is shocking for jeep is the random results people see. I had issues with Ford but it seemed the fail rate was 90% i had issue with Hyundai and again very high fail rate. With jeep (Excluding the diesel) it really seems random trucks have near zero quality issues and others are built to 1980 Soviet bloc quality.
@JeepCares. We have a lot of people here who watch how people are treated when issues come up. I for one am a repeat buyer as many on this forum are. Failures happen. How jeep responds is going to impact whether or not you continue to keep repeat buyers.

We have 2 customers here that are not seeing the best from Jeep.
Hi Scott,

Thank you for the tag. We regret to learn about the vehicle experience's above. We would be happy to provide further support to any customer experiencing concerns. Please send us a private message with your VIN.

Yup, if the denial continues, get out the checkbook and put a v8 in it.
Of somehow they approve a new engine. Once you get it back, sell it.

So my dealer adds an additional warranty to the work (labor/parts) for items covered under warranty. So mine is going back once I get my caster and pinion angles sorted out ...... hopefully this weekend

I hate hearing this but am also happy that I'm not the only one.
I'm currently waiting on Stellantis to approve our 3rd engine. Rather than stand by their warranty, they are jerking my Dealership around and my wife(it's her Gladiator). 2nd engine went in at 60ish, second engine not even 10k. o2 sensor and catalytic converter both changed out.
These things should not be happening on such new vehicles.
My dealership has been doing everything and taking care of us.
WIth that said why does Stellantis not care about their dealer network and ultimately their customers?
The dealer has had our Mojave longer than we have for 2024. @JeepCares what options do we have?

Built on a Friday? Before Christmas? After a bar night?

Honestly though, that sucks. When I got mine (used, 22 with 15k miles) FCA/CHRYSLER/STELLANTIS reliability was definitely a strong consideration, but the fact I felt I got a good pre-owned warranty as well as my desire for a truck, convertible, and 4x4 were all things I've always wanted but never had (all previous vehicles were sedans) swayed me. I haven't had any issues yet and figured if I do experience something serious, I'd trade it when the warranty is up (I hope I don't have too). I've always gotten "practical" vehicles and I wanted something cool. I figured after 41 trips around the sun, I deserve to treat myself.

Fact is, if you investigate any make or model, you'll find someone who has been hosed. I've sworn of GM for issues both me and my wife have had with three different cars (transmission issues, traction control, ignition switch issues before it became a will known issue). People are even having issues with the new Tacoma from what I've seen and read. And that's a Toyota!

I hope they take care of you. At the end of the day, it's in their best interest.

You could also look at it as glad half full. Opportunity for a Demon or Hellephant swap....

Stellantis doesn't GAF, they got their money....let's be honest. Has there ever been success with @JeepCares ? They pop in time to time, ask for information......but does anything really come of it?
