If you are worried about warranty you should be more worried about legality….I figured maybe on an exhaust thread someone could answer a question I had about putting one in my JT.
He has a Mojave... nothing illegal about swapping out the exhaust on a 3.6 so long as cats are retained. If you are worried about warranty you should be more worried about legality….
Who is “he”, I am OP and do not have a Mojave …He has a Mojave... nothing illegal about swapping out the exhaust on a 3.6 so long as cats are retained.
"He" would be the one that effeneh quoted and responded to. Go back and reread posts 4, 5, 6, 11, and 17 to catch up.Who is “he”, I am OP and do not have a Mojave …
but yes, this should all pertain to the diesel.
I dont have the axle back either. Basically sounds stock, which I love.order exhaust first and then a tuned computer, still waiting on it. I didn’t get the axle back, gonna see how it sounds first. I tow a travel trailer so I don’t want it too loud, wife would be pissed
I have just the towing tune and I installed my ecu and ran it with the dpf unplugged for about a month. No issues. Never did floor it or drive it hard though, didn’t want to hurt the turbo with all the back pressure and added power. I had about 1.5 month gap between receiving my ecu and exhaust.Hi All, I want to jump into the fray as it seems that a lot of you know your stuff about this. This is my first diesel so this all new to me. And forgive me for asking questions that have already been posted on other threads. (There are a ton of threads on this subject!) Here’s where I’m at in the retuning/deleting process:
2023 RJTD:
-Ordered from EOC:
-Pre-tuned ECU w/Stage 2 SOTF
-transmission tune
-down pipe exhaust (without resonator)
The ECU and transmission tune have shipped. However, they have no ETA for the exhaust and, based on the threads I’ve seen here, it looks like I can plan on it being a while before it does. Question: is it okay to install the ECU and transmission tune without the new exhaust? It would seem like it should be okay as it is turning off the DEF; no harm leaving that connected. Unless there’s an issue leaving the DPF in-line when the system won’t be burning off the build up?
I’d ask EOC but we know how easy that is.
Good feedback. Very helpful. Thank you!I have just the towing tune and I installed my ecu and ran it with the dpf unplugged for about a month. No issues. This is a diesel man. Lots more emission BS to contend with.He has a Mojave... nothing illegal about swapping out the exhaust on a 3.6 so long as cats are retained.

I just assumed that was exhaust sealant with a strip of paper to keep it from sticking to the clamp you need to open and making a mess. Removed the backing paper and clamped it down. Sealant fills the gap in the opening of the clamp.Just got my Eoc exhaust in. Does anyone know why the exhaust clamps have a piece of what looks like butyl tape? Thinking about removing it. Can’t see a reason to have it there.![]()
I’m thinking it’s just going to melt and make a mess. Never seen those clamps used with that before. Each clamp has a little square haphazardly stuck on there. Did you install one of these exhausts?I just assumed that was exhaust sealant with a strip of paper to keep it from sticking to the clamp you need to open and making a mess. I've used similar sealant from a tube and also used these clamps without any sealant at all before.
