Not there quite yet! i've been creeping on this thread for a bit but haven't tried to tap into the switch yet. These were tapped into the license plates light for testing. Once I realized how bright they actually were, I just taped them off. Will most likely be hooking them to the aux switches in the future and/or watching this thread for a successful hookup to the fog switch.

Any new updated news?

Haha I refuse to let this thread die.
Not yet, I work close to 70 hours a week and now with the snow and cold it’s been hard to get it done on my day off, that and with trying to finish my GFs car.
but don’t worry it will get done. I’ve been trying to do some digging into it slowly.

I am also very impatient to see the result because I live in FRANCE and I must bring my Gladiator into conformity with the European Union !

I will be putting mine up in the air this weekend. So far I have found that a connector under the passenger rear door # XY552A may have the wires needed. If that is correct cavities 18 and 26 will have wires on the side going to the BCM. If not I am stuck with AUX switches or going all the way from the BCM to the lights if you want to use the factory switch. Wish me luck!

so after reading through this thread, if I want to run the export tail lights all I have to do is order them through the dealer with the part number, and then flash / j scan them ? Anyone have the tail lights up and running ?

I have the incandescent euro spec taillamps. Unfortunately they are not plug and play at least for these. There is an extra wire (solid blue) for the turn signal in the lamp plug. A separate wire has to be ran for the left and right turn signals. I have not installed mine yet just looked around at my wiring options. I would assume that the LED lamps are not plug and play as well and that an extra wire will probably need to be ran.

I have them running since last March, but not through the fog light button. I exhausted my search for the wires in the harness, not there. Hooked to Aux 3 under the hood. Being I have the Tazer, and not an option to turn on the rear fogs through it, not planning on paying more and buying the import switch and the Jscan when what I have does what I need.

The reason for the extra wire could be another Euro spec thing for parking on side of road in foggy weather. >> After or when stopping or parked vehicle "you turn on the turn signal" and depending on which side of the road your parked off of that turns on that side taillight on steady for incoming vehicle drivers to see. <<
Just something I had to learn back in 1989 for my driver's license in (Germany) and Europe driving.

Hey @SPED1 ,

Were you able to check if your Gladiator has the wire feeds from the BCM (or at the connector you mention here) to power these rear fog lights?

It sounds like the switch in the dash is merely a controller, as its behavior can be modified by programming, and there isn't a EURO spec switch model. If that's the case, programming may only enable the feeds (if they are present). And if they are not, we should look for a diagram of the BCM to find the rear-fog-light terminals at the BCM and tap into them. Hopefully our JT's have a wire feed from the BCM in the harness we can tap and get this to work with the OEM fog light switch/button.

Some additional commentary: Thanks everyone for contributing to the research, this is one of my favorite threads here. Also, the more I think about it, the idea that a light in my instrument cluster may never light up simply because its for export use only and I cant figure out how to retro-fit the export fogs, is just not acceptable!

EDIT:
There is a EURO switch, Part No. 68309781AB, (Thanks SPED1).

Hey guys sorry I’ve been crazy busy with work, and I was out of town all of last week. I do have a couple days off soon so I’m hoping I have the time to get this all wired up. From everything I’ve seen, it looks like I should be able to get it to work off the factory switch after I repin the connector and then run the wires up to the switch in the dash.
Really need to get this done. Hoping with in the week or so.

It will have to be from the BCM out. No pins at the cavities on that plug [which is the bulkhead connector from inside out] There is a euro switch, it has the picture for the rear fog part# 68309781AB on the button. It also has no pins in cavities 2/7/9. I have not yet pulled my switch out. All of this means that I will be going the aux switch route. I am not playing with rewiring a brand new vehicle front to rear while it's my daily driver. That is what my TJ is for lol

Altitude models *may* have the extra wiring. They have the turn signal mirrors so it's possible they're using the export harness throughout. I don't know anyone who has one to verify.
