They haven't said anything for Jeep yet, but Dodge is offering a new security reflash that prevents new keys from being added to your vehicle to prevent this type of theft. The bad news is it also prevents you from having another key made for your vehicle unless you also replace the module for an extra $159.
When it becomes available, I'll probably get a couple more keys made and have my Challenger locked down. Would consider this for the Jeep as well if they offer it.

That would be amazing, where can we start pressuring them for jeep.

Good question, I'm not sure where they are in all the years they've promised to go back for Dodge as other than the promise of adding a new year to the list every six weeks I've seen nothing to show they actually have.

The other person who had this happen to them was also in Ontario. Theirs was successfully stolen. Glad yours wasn't. Something is going on in ON lately.
Tazer will enable hood alarms.
Do all gladiators have alarms, or only the ones with the 8.4” radio? I have a ‘21 rubicon with the 7” radio. I do have a Tazer, but hadn’t noticed the alarm settings. I’ve also been tempted by the keyfob activated hood lock, but wondered if this was a waste as it would be useless if they intercepted the keyfob RF signal.

Certainly a disappointment you have to pay so much money for the tazer when jeep should enable that on a software update
You can do the same thing with the JScan app. The license is like $20 per VIN and all you need is a cheap bluetooth/wifi OBDII. I'm not sure why JScan doesn't get as much love as the Tazer does, but it does everything a Tazer does minus the "live" functions that require the Tazer to be left plugged in.

That's a good question, because Kevin says he has a hood alarm. I definitely don't without the tazer. I have the 7 inch screen on my Rubicon as well. It works when the tazer is plugged in. I don't know if we do though. Because I've tried to set off the shock sensor on purpose, and I can't

I use jscan too, but does the hood alarm thing work on jscan, or is that a live setting on the tazer only? and if jscan can do it, that means the dealership could enable this too. So I wonder why it isn't the default?

I don’t leave my Tazer plugged in. It’s married for tire size, gearing, and TPMS settings, but the live settings were buggy as hell. I guess an internal hidden hood lock is a reasonable option.

I don't leave mine plugged in either. It was just something I tested when I first got it. I might start though.

My reverse lights stayed on while driving anytime it was unlocked with the keyfob instead of the proximity handles. It’s dead to me. :)

That’s exactly what I wanna do right now I’m just using a magnetic contact setting off a door alarm in my house but I also am running HomeKit. And could easily adapt. Currently I am just monitoring the good but would love to tie into the alarm so when the alarm goes off I can send a signal.
I'm not really up to speed with HomeKit, but I imagine all you really need to do is get another door sensor and put it under the hood. As long as you park close enough to your house, it should connect when you get home. Set the alarm to go off when armed at night. Seems like a pretty simple solution.

I didn't like the license plate blanking thing. I know some people love it, but it turned off my license plate lights every time I used my turn signal. That could get me in trouble at night time with a cop behind me. And I kept accidentally triggering the stupid light show.

I have the hood alarm activated on with JScan. It just uses one of the hood switches. I forget what it's called in the app and I think they recently updated the layout. Let me take a look and see if I can find it.
