Factory Oil Change

So went to deal and got my first oil change today. Was able to hang out with the tech who did it. He said the first oil change for the diesel they use the actual factory oil. After that, the other oil changes they use a pennzoil. He said its just as good. Anyone have any comments or feedback about that? If there is a difference in Oils I would rather use the factory oil each time no?

Mopar has no oil refinery and thus makes no oil.

They repackage someone else's oil and then charge a premium.

There are several oils available that meet or exceed factory specifications.
Do your wallet a favor and do some research on the internet or go here, https://bobistheoilguy.com/ and read until you pass out.

Good chance Pennzoil (SOPUS) makes the Mopar oil. Then again, there are many other blenders and suppliers who could make it. But FCA has a special relationship with SOPUS, so if I were a betting man, my money would say it is Pennzoil.

Technically, it is no longer FCA, but that is much easier to write and remember than the new name.

So, I just ordered Pennzoil Platinum Euro full synthetic... it seemed hard finding an oil with the specs needed. 12 qts for 90 bucks. Is this the right stuff?? It does state under the viscosity tab on Pennzoil's website ( API SN PLUS specification not applicable). Does this mean it will cause warranty issues, it is hard to tell if this is for 5w40 or for all the viscosities????
