I had the premium linex installed in my '23 Mojave, paid about $750 (SF Bay Area is expensive). The results look amazing and the warranty if anything fails is top notch. I could have purchased the lower lever linex (lesser UV and no shiny finish) but opted for their top of the line treatment.

At the end of the day, I'm sure factory is fine, but for a little more $$ you get a better product.

I've had a few trucks over the years with factory sprayed in liners and never had any issues. I've seen those youtube videos where they just peel the the factory liner out because it wasn't prepped. I'm pretty sure those are staged.

I couldn't get the factory liner when I ordered my JT. So I went with Line-X. Paid about $600 for the premium last year in March. What's nice with Line-X. You can tell them where you want a little extra. I had them spray farther on down at the end of the bed, by the tail gate. Plus extra on the bottom of the tail gate. This is the area that traps crap when you close the tail gate.

There is a warranty with Line-X too. I've had to use it on my Power Wagon. Was unloading a bed full of dirt with a shovel. Couple of times. I dug the end of the shovel into the bed liner. Took it back to Line-X and they touched it up.
Yeah that's definitely a perk of doing it aftermarket.......you tell them what you want and get it.

All the OEM factory liners from FCA, GM & Ford use an adhesion promoter wipe down and then liner sprayed. It is not a paint/clear coat scuff like LIne-X or Rhino Liner does that adheres the product better.

Not to say the factory liner is not durable, just not as durable as other aftermarket commercial liner products.

I've never really understood why adding a liner to protect the bed requires destroying the surface you're trying to protect. It's not a bed liner, but actually a new bed surface. Theoretically, the factory liner could be removed and leave the original bed intact, where the aftermarket ones cannot.

I’ve had both. Either is fine. Linex is franchised and you can’t compare one dealer to another… like Maaco.

have the Mopar currently and I can’t damage it. What it’s like I. 10 years? It’s a modern car… it’ll be in the junk yard before that.

Which ever you may decide, I suggest you request that all of the factory screw holes in the bed are plugged as so they will not be clogged with the liner spray. Also, remove the plastic cap in the right side of the bed where the accessory plugs are located. After the bed is sprayed the cap can be snapped back in.

Linex 100% you pay for what you get. OEM liner is crap. Remember it’s your Jeep so do what you want.

I was quoted $600 for Line-X Standard and $700 for Premium - I’m in South Florida. Any real difference in the two? Probably won’t be hauling anything crazy - mountain bike, and some stuff from storage unit auctions from time to time. Just got the Mojave and it needs many many sweet upgrades so I’d like to save a few bucks when I can :)

Factory liner on mine was neatly done with precise cut off and the mounting holes were clear. I note that the liner even extends under trim at the top of the tailgate which is nice. I've treated my bed pretty roughly and to date it's flawless.

LineX may very well be better but I'll say the factory coating is excellent. What I wouldn't do is use the bed without a liner, it should be standard and is a no brainer.

UV protection will help with fading over time. If you live in an area where your Jeep will get a lot of direct sunlight, it might be worth it. But ultimately it’s a cosmetic thing.

I installed the Line-X after reading the factory spray-in bedliner was very abrasive. I'm happy with the Line-X for about the same price as the factory install. I got the 2nd level upgrade with UV resistance even though I have a tonneau cover. Totally worth it.

The factory bedliner in my JT is about 3/32" thick. I know because I can use a forstener bit to cut a relief for nutserts so they sit flush with the bed. The stuff is hard to remove and has held up magnificently for me despite hauling all kinds of stuff in the bed. I just got a quote to cover some fender flares from Line-X and it would more than double the cost of the flares themselves. Looking into DIY applications now...

No kidding it's thick - I had to do similar when I installed the inserts for my home brew rails and the tonneau cover latches I made. it's thick as hell.
And it holds up to tossing a lot of iron and steel in the bed.
0 adhesion issues, 0 thickness issues. it's tough as nails.
I go to swap meets and end up tossing, sometimes literally, heavy starters (think Ford 4 1/2" starters from the 60s) and alternators, other car parts, heads, crank shafts, whatever. No damage, none.

The nutsert is still recessed into the liner - the liner is so thick, I had to modify the end of the tool that installs these to get through the thickness of the liner -

I had to chuck this up in my lathe to get the tool to hold the flange of the nutsert it sat so far back in the depth of the liner

I've hauled a variety of concrete blocks -

You name it, it's probably been tossed into the back of this truck (you don't think I gingerly and carefully set all of that stuff down in there like loading eggs, do you?) - it IS a truck, first. And the factory bed liner has never given out or been damaged.

So I don't get the this vs. that bit - makes no sense. You'll like what you have and you'll think it's better than any other option as to suggest otherwise is to suggest maybe you could have made a different or even better choice. So those who have after-market and swear it's superior - that have to say that or face the fact maybe the factory system is just as good and they could have made a different choice. Humans don't do that.
I say what I do because it's two Gladiators with the factory stuff, abused and used, hauling concrete, scrap iron, car parts, heavy stuff, it's thick and it sticks. Is there better? I can't say there isn't. But why would I care when this is a great solution that holds up to my types of abuse. Again, it's a truck first for me, so I use it like a truck. I haul stuff, sharp, heavy stuff.
I hauled an antique engine and a load of car parts over to Fort Wayne a couple of years ago - not a scratch in the bed.
Buy what you want - but I can't see this bit of "this is better than that" stuff.
Anyone who has installed anything in the beds of their JT with this factory stuff knows how thick and tough it is.

So just pick one, make a choice. One isn't necessarily "better" than the other. When you use a truck like I do - if one was going to give out, I'd have seen it by now.
