Feeling audio in steering wheel

Recently acquired my Gladiator Mojave and have noticed certain frequencies in music are resulting in feedback/vibration in the steering wheel. I've confirmed by hitting mute on and off and note the change in the steering wheel feel. Is this typical given these have speakers mounted in the lower console rather than the door?

First time driving mine I found the same thing. Can also feel it in the pedals. Kept thinking the engine was “off” but turning music down stopped it.
kind of just got used to it now.

I have the alpine package and my volume, even doors off, never passes 22 so I don’t think it’s a loudness problem.

Also....have you check your Speed Adaptive Volume Thingie? It's in the settings and i think there are 3 levels plus OFF. Always fun knowing you can"t out run the volume

Happens in mine too with the base audio system. Only annoys me sometimes. I was wondering if it would be easy to add some polyfill of some sort to deaden it around the speaker, but haven't looked into it much.

ohh forgot about that. Mine is at 3 so yeah it could be a loudness issue.

I love bass - was listening to the rad with the top off last summer and cranked the volume up and felt it in the steering column. Wasn't bad until a song came on where McCartney was really hitting the bass hard. Loved it.
I had an 87 Comanche SporTruck with a massive stereo system as I did contests at the time. All Alpine. 2 large subs aimed into the back of the seats (no other place to put them in that little cab) and 8 other speakers - 4 mid-range and 4 tweeters. I had to keep an allen wrench and a screwdriver in the glove box to tighten up the inside mirror and other pieces every so often.
Guess that explains the hearing aids today.
This JT with the Alpine premium system can't even touch that Comanche sound quality wise.

On my base audio system with the 7inch screen I max it out daily. My biggest complaint about the Gladiator is audio. I have replaced the dash tweeters, put in 6.5’s in the kick panels and 6x9’s in the sports bar. I completely run out of volume, and the bass is terrible. Next step a sub. Debating adding an amp to the speakers to help.

8" subwoofer pair in a computer designed enclosure made of dense particle board, behind the seats - and if you've seen the cab of a Comanche, you know there's enough room for a tiny dog to lay back there and that's about it. I covered the box with maroon material that was basically the same as the carpet in the truck, mounted the jack and handle on the box to make it look factory. Each sub aimed to the center of the left and right seats. You felt it in your spine.
Tweeters in rear pillar with guides to direct the sound, another pair of tweeters in the doors where the lock switches would go had it been so equipped with power locks and windows.
Mid-range in the lower door panels near the front of the panels, and in the pillars to the rear and side of the seats. You were surrounded with sound. Two amps under the seats (barely fit) - one for the subs, the other for the other 8 speakers. EQ mounted just right of center under dash, head unit in the dash (CD at that time, USB wasn't a thing, Apple was a computer and little more.)

I had an ‘87 Comanche SporTruck. I later traded it for the Comanche Pioneer package. Those were some fun, zippy little trucks.

I have an Overland with the 8.4 and Alpine Premium audio. Mine rarely goes above 15, and 10 is plenty loud for normal driving. The first thing I had to do was turn the bass level way down.

yeah to be more clear that level is always windows down / roof / doors off. It’s also the absolute max I have taken it on quieter songs.

Full cabin and I am much more aligned to 10-15
