They have a new update that just came out late last mouth
Check and see if yours has the latest software
I have been driving more at night and the screen is pretty good at night in dark mode
I sent insane an email complaining about the fixed button icons on the left side of the screen
I think the home page would be great if I could move or delete those buttons
Send them an email complaining about the fixed buttons and maybe they will fix if a lot of people complain

Yeah, I'm definitely going to email them. There's no reason to lock it down like that.

At least for now, hopefully until IA fixes this issue I may have a solution..

I've been using Nova launcher on my phones for years and I really like the customization.
It occurred to me today that there shouldn't be any reason why I can't use it on the 4001...

I haven't spent much time on it so I haven't figured out how to move the dock to the left side, but so far I'm happy. It's basically back to what I could do in 3001.

The biggest downside I guess is that I haven't been able to get the same widgets on the screen like the stock layout had, but it's not a big deal.

Everything works as before otherwise.

I should note that I've had the paid version of Nova for years, not sure if the free version is functionally different or if it just ads or whatever...

Anyone have issues with Bluetooth while running android auto, if my phones plugged in I can't make or receive calls through the stereo, but if I unplug my phone it works fine

I haven't had mine long enough to make more than a few calls so far, but as far as I can tell I have not had any issues like that.

Just installed the updated can buss that was supposed to fix the car tuning not saving my settings put it did not fix the problem
Any buddy have this issue with there JL 4001

What settings are you trying to change? When I get back home tomorrow I could see if they work for me.

All the factory settings like
horn or lights when locking / headlight delay / lights with wipers / KPH or MPH / odometer KL or miles just to mention a few
All these setting are in car tuning

Taking a little break, I am about 85% done with the physical install and am starting to trouble shoot a little bit. Here are some photos of the unit. Apologies that everything is dirty, Ill clean it up as I go. There are two extra wires that I am trying to figure out. One is the SAT, I believe, and the other I have no clue, its from the wiring harness but it doesnt seem to connect to anything? I have emailed for clarification.

Additionally, its not recognizing that the doors are off. This happened last time installed it as well, I forgot how to program it as if they were off. I think the unit is made to have the doors on when you install it the first time, but its so much easier to get around with no doors.

Is the backlight for the buttons green, or is this a trick of the light?

The back lighting is rgb, so you can adjust it

I found a great a dark mode launcher I swaped from their built in one to:
Car Launcher (I paid for the PRO)
But there is a free version to try it out. Honestly I wish they would just license that and use it and provide a custom ux rather then their attempt at a dark mode launcher.
